Hal Jordan, Carol Ferris, “Pieface” Kalmaku, Hector Hammond & his Dad, Sinestro, Abin Sur and now… Amanda Waller? Angela Bassett is the latest addition to GREEN LANTERN’s cast, doing a turn as the government agent mostly known for supervising the Suicide Squad. I suppose we’ve only got a couple shoes left to drop in regard to casting. Is Ganthet going to show up? And who would play him? Will Kilowog be voiced by somebody recognizable?
SPH speculates that her involvement in this movie might be setting up the SUICIDE SQUAD movie that’s been in development for a while. If that’s the case, it would parlay into what we’ve been hearing about DCE and Warner Bros. ratcheting up the number of superhero movies they’re going to be making over the next few years. I can’t help thinking of the discussion about escalation at the end of BATMAN BEGINS since, if this is the plan in motion, then it’d seem to be an example of DC matching Marvel’s penchant for cameos and setting up further films.
Why don’t we pour some speculative grain out and get the rumor mill turning. If SUICIDE SQUAD does go ahead, what member should be included and who should play them? It’s a shame that Charles Bronson has passed on, as he’d been an OBVIOUS shoe-in for Deadshot. But how about Captain Boomerang? Or the Bronze Tiger?
