The coincidences just keep piling on for me.  I’m back in Boston this weekend for a college friend’s wedding and, just as I return, one of the more notable alums of my schools  is back in the news. Well, indirectly back in the news, at least. As many of you know, William Moulton-Marston created Wonder Woman with Harry G. Peter in the 40s, basing the character largely on his wife, Sadie. She attended BU’s law school in the early 1900s and, as such, I used to see displays about her and Wonder Woman in the school library while I was enrolled. The display had early concept drawings similar to what you see here, a sketch of WW done just months before her debut in ALL-STAR COMICS #8.

Blastr recovered this drawing and its appearance is doubly-auspicious, because a lot of Wonder Woman art will be going up for auction this weekend.  Wonder Woman day is being held this Sunday in Portland, Oregon and Flemington, New Jersey and, among many exciting festivities, the event will see a startling amount of original art of the Amazon princess going up for bids. If I listed the number of artists who're contributing, their names would take up several pages here. Seriously, look at the flyer below. I’m sure you’ll find at least five of your favorite artists somewhere in the mix. == TEASER ==

What's most important about this event is that auction's being done in the name of charity - -the proceeds will go to raising awareness about domestic violence and helping its victims. If you'd like to get involved, go on and check out the auctions online through WW Museum's site.
