Actor Cast as Raphael in 'Ninja Turtles' Film

Meh. Megan Fox as April is still 100% turn off for me.

I like this choice, but no to Megan Fox still. Who will be the rest of them? Is Casey going to be in it?

I'm am thoroughly boycotting this movie in its entirety. No reason to see this garbage and since Michael Bay is directing the movie you can bet he'll regard the franchise's roots with 0 respect.

Now that synopsis I can deal with....sounds like the Utroms will invade earth which somehow causes the Turtles to be "born"

I wonder if this guy could pull of Raphael, I haven't seen him in anything. Is he going to voice act? I was think they could do the turtles in cgi.

Casey was in the old script. However, they claim that script is nothing like the current one. Still, I would be surprised if he isn't in it.

the things i look for in a comic book movie

• fight scenes/special effects- this is where bay shines, like it or not
• storyline- im scared here. but until i get a trailer im open minded
• costume- see storyline
• actors ability to capture characters- i dont judge here until i see the movie. i hated the guy who played hulk in the avengers(terrible with names and dont care to look it up) at first but he did awesome in the movie

i reallllllllllllllllllllllly want this movie to be good we need a ninja turtle movie with quality effects

Aquaman is Raphael?

I've seen Alan cut his teeth on Smallville, Blue Mountain State, and 90210. He's played some diverse roles on those shows. It's really cool to see actors like him get a shot in the big leagues. Congrats, sir! I hope that you do well in the role!

Also, Megan Fox will prove all of the haters wrong. She was great in the first Transformers and surprise the fans the same way Chris Evans did.

About Megan Fox.. because that's what the article is about, right? I mean there's a guy and that's Raphael, but Megan Fox yeah?

So, the safe assumption seems to be that Megan Fox is "wrong" for the part, but I think that's an assumption based on her pouty bedroom persona that - for all intents and purposes - every movie she's been in so far has asked of her. She sticks her behind so far up in the air in Transformers 2 that you're worried she's gonna snap in half. That's not "Megan Fox", that's not inherently a trait she'll bring to every movie unless someone asks for it.

The assumption is that Megan Fox *definitely* plays that sort of April, and I think everyone agrees that would be horrible. Now, because I'm a pretty optimistic person and because I love it when actors jump out of their mould and do something unexpected, I'd be interested to see a more subdued and more "naturalistic" Megan Fox in a movie.

Then again, if this Turtles movie is gonna be "dark" and "edgy" you bet it's gonna be "sexy" too. But then Megan Fox isn't the root of the problem, and whoever they cast as April is meant to be folded in four places and put on a motorbike no matter what.

@danhimself: Whatever. It ain't Shakespeare, no matter how convinced you are that it is. Like I said, Megan Fox's role in the film will have a nearly negligible impact on the quality of the film; if you take issue with the level of character development (and I can promise you now it won't be enough to satisfy you) then you have a problem with the writers, not the actors, because it doesn't matter who's playing the part, if the character is undeveloped, there's not a thing an actor can do about that.

Aliens invade Earth and inadvertently spawn a quartet of mutated reptile warriors, the Ninja Turtles, who rise up against them to defend the world.

This actually gives me some hope from the original statement made that they were aliens themselves. I'm starting to have an open mind to this now. Still though, Megan Fox and Michael Bay makes me cringe though.

Elisha Cuthbert would have made a much better choice for April.

Plus, whilst she may or may not "break" the movie, the wrong actress can make an otherwise good movie distracting (Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2) while the right actress can make an otherwise okay movie even better (Amazing Spider-Man). Megan Fox is too distracting for most, despite your hero worship of her.

Thank you. It seems like the majority of the people defending Megan Fox are only proving the point of the detractors; April O'Neil is an extremely important part of the Turtles mythos, and to say that she A: doesn't matter to the overall product, or B: has no importance beyond looking good on camera shows a complete lack of understanding not only of the franchise, but is also frankly very sexist.

To all the people slamming TMNT fans for their criticism of Megan Fox as April, ask yourselves this: how comfortable would you be with Robert Pattinson playing Shredder?

Well, if her ability to play wiffle ball is anything to judge by her acting chops...she wouldnt be able to figure it out...much like her movie roles. But, that would be amusing to watch..so, i see what you mean.

If your going to use that artist work the least you could do is credit him for his work. Had it been promo work for the cartoon or comics its far more passable. For those that don't know its Dave Rapoza.

On to the actual movie its hard to stay positive to many things going against it and after what happened with Transformers I don't want to see my other favorite franchise be tarnished all over again.

Not familiar with this actor.

By that logic, we'd have to credit every picture we use. Yeah, no thanks.

And seeing as I've publicly praised and promoted his work in the past, I have no gripe with not saying above "This half of the picture is by Dave Rapoza!" Then, why not credit the other half, too? "This picture by photographer..." I'd rather focus on the actual story at hand. Obviously, photo credit will be given when legally required, but I don't see this as such a case. Like I've said, I've even shared/promoted his work in the past and this image has been around for quite some time.
