    Origin

    Philo Makepeace was born in Fort Huachuca, Arizona and became a truck driver. His haphazard driving got him in trouble and he joined the military. Upon joining the Joes he was given charge of driving the Rolling Thunder vehicle.

    Creation

    Armadillo first appeared as an action figure in 1988 and made his comic debut shortly thereafter. He was introduced by writer Larry Hama and artist Tom Palmer.
