Arkham Town?

Arkham was the name of a very weird town in the stories of H P Lovecraft.

The people in Arkham Asylum are very weird.

I think I watched, or quite possibly read, something awhile back about a link between the two, as in one being named after the other though I'm not sure.

Sounds interesting. I may have to check that out.

Yeah, the asylum was named after the town.

Speaking of Lovecraft-ever read Steven King's 'Crouch End'? It's very Lovecraftian, but more readable.

"Don't come near if you been to Crouch End Towen!"

The city/asylum was named after the H.P, stories. Some story (can't remember which one) said that the comic book city of Arkham was under some kind of ancient (Indian?) curse that had a Lovecraftian theme to it, and that's why its the way it is.

Older than the Indians, I bet. That's Lovecraft for you. ;)
