If he is immortal according to his power list and the fact he is a god, how can he die. Trying to find Siege in Ireland is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. So i dont mind spoilers
Ares
Character » Ares appears in 779 issues.
Ares is the son of Zeus and the Olympian God of War. After years of fighting against The Avengers, Thor, and mostly his own brother Hercules, Ares joined the ranks of the Avengers. He was a member of Tony Stark's official Avengers team and later Norman Osborn's Dark Avengers. After he attacked Osborn for tricking him in starting Siege on Asgard, he was stopped and killed by the Sentry.
If He Is Immortal How Can He Die?
His body can be destroyed but his essence or "spirit" can live forever. Eventually it will enter a new body and Ares will be reborn, much like Zeus.
He is immortal in the sense that he won't die unless someone kills him.As in he will naturally live forever.
This is how I see it his immortality gives him super durability and super strength but if Ares comes across someone physically stronger than him or someone with great magic then his body will die.
Ares then has to wait for another skyfather like Zeus or Pluto to resurrect him
His body can be broken and turned to ash by someone more powerful
but his Soul will live on and go through the cycle of death and reincarnation that many Olympians follow, Ares eventually will be back. It might take 5-10 years for him to return in some kind of rebirth but eventually he will be back
" @Vance Astro said:You have to be kidding me...." @DEGRAAF said:y not? "he should take sentry's body "I don't think he can do that. "

@Vance Astro:
if the above statement is true why not lol. He'd be better in that body the Bob. Im not serious but i wouldnt be against it either
I also didn't mean enter a new body as in possess it, but rather have one prepared for him. Although with what's going on in New Olympus that might change and Ares might just stay dead, which would suck.
" Looks like body & spirit are back to normal in May...Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...... Sentry is in it.... Wow was my random moment of topic or what.... I like lamp.
"
"Looks like body & spirit are back to normal in May...what kind of avengers team is that? Something big must be going on if they have the Dark Avengers with the New Avengers and then some.

@Nova`Prime`:
yea but isnt one (asgard or Olympus) actual gods and the other just live a long time and are hard to kill?
"@Nova`Prime`: yea but isnt one (asgard or Olympus) actual gods and the other just live a long time and are hard to kill? "Well the Olympians were originally the Eternals, but then they changed that. But as far as I know both are considered the actual mythological gods of old. I believe Marvel has used just about all the major mythos religions from the Greeks all the way down to the Mayans. Although I saw most of them in Marvel The End.
ASGARDIAN GODS
They are not immortal, but have incredibly vast life spans (compared to humans) combined with regular consumption of golden apples of the cosmic tree of Yggdrasil to maintain their vitality. Hence even a "God" as old as Odin still retains vast physical strength. Asgardian bodily tissue is much denser than that of humans, giving them great weight and immense strength. This is combined with an accelerated metabolism that provides enormous stamina and reserves of energy, as well as the capacity to heal rapidly from wounds and great resistance to disease. As the Asgardian culture prizes glory in battle above all things, most Asgardians are highly skilled fighters in hand to hand and (archaic) weaponed combat. Though no Asgardian has been shown dying of old age, they can be killed. If they are killed in battle, their souls are taken to Valhalla, feast hall of Odin.
OLYMPIAN GODS
The typical attributes of Olympian Gods include superhuman strength, invulnerability, and functional immortality. They are usually immune to human diseases. The source of the Olympian Gods' immortality is their practice of eating ambrosia and drinking nectar made from the apples of immortality. The gods of Olympus are a species of superhumanly powerful beings who were worshipped by the Greeks and Romans.

" @Final Arrow: Were is Sentry? I don't see him in that pic "I find sometimes the pic is compressed on the forums

Ares isn't the first god to die, Zeus died. All of Asgard perished during Ragnorak to be reborn. As stated above he will return, well actually he is back.
when ragnorak takes the asgardians then they are to be reborn, thats their cycle of life..." Ares isn't the first god to die, Zeus died. All of Asgard perished during Ragnorak to be reborn. As stated above he will return, well actually he is back. "
only when the olympians end come will he truly be reborn !!!
