As most of us know Ares got torn apart by Sentry, but was able to deliver one final blow before he died. In his fight with X-man however, one thing was clear to me: Physical death isn't the end of Ares the god of war. (He couldn't even find a way to beat him, since he can't erase war.)

He truly is the image of War, not only on the physical plane, but on ALL planes. If he dies, he simply comes back. His role with the dark avengers was to cause War, and if he would have won against the Sentry, Siege (the war) wouldn't of happened the way it did.
Any Thoughts?
Ares
Character » Ares appears in 779 issues.
Ares is the son of Zeus and the Olympian God of War. After years of fighting against The Avengers, Thor, and mostly his own brother Hercules, Ares joined the ranks of the Avengers. He was a member of Tony Stark's official Avengers team and later Norman Osborn's Dark Avengers. After he attacked Osborn for tricking him in starting Siege on Asgard, he was stopped and killed by the Sentry.
His Image and connection to siege
The Siege: Secret Warriors tie in seems to indicate that the God of War really can't be killed, when Ares is talking to Alex in the field.
I'm not really surprised about the latter. He has several feats as of late that indicate that physics doesn't apply to him. Jumping through time to follow Nate was impressive. In Secret Warriors nine, when he used his axe to follow Eden and Hellfire and Alex through Eden's portal, I was incredibly surprised. His axe seems to have mystical properties about it conducive to such a theory.

@Voidheart:
LOL "Dad's not so good at math."
Yeah, we know he will come back... it is just when? If anything and hopefully down the road, they do the similar thing they did with Thor. Rest some of their Greek Gods and bring them back.
He himself stated that he died many times, so it's possible it's just routine and he'll be back to maybe even end siege?
@Lance Uppercut: your welcome
yeah. Gods don't really ever die in Marvel, they step off to another plane and work to recover their physical
existence again. come to think of it almost every character does the same thing, but Gods and Deities pretty
much have a VIP pass as far as nether realms go.
Despite if Ares can die or not, he didn't need to be killed like that. I honestly hope that Sentry gets his due when his confused superpowered crybaby junkie ass is landed in the Underworld for not only killing a god, but killing an ultimate badass.
He's coming back, I know that for a fact and so does many other Marvel fans.
Of course, but maybe it was all part of Ares grand plan to wage war.... or He'll come back and find a way to kill him.
