Ares is the son of Zeus and the Olympian God of War. After years of fighting against The Avengers, Thor and mostly his own brother Hercules, Ares joined the ranks of the Avengers. He was a member of Tony Stark's official Avengers team and later Norman Osborn's Avengers.

Better villian than anti-hero

I think that Ares is a better villain than anti-hero. I have always enjoyed the classic Ares vs. Hercules or Ares vs. Thor battles.

Uh, but heroes fight heroes all the time, so you could still see more Ares vs Herc and vs Thor which I like too, but as an anti hero, you'll probably be able to see him vs Rulk, and Abomination, U-Foes, Blob, I dunno. I personally tend to think he should be neutral generally and open to stances when it comes to specific matters and challenges. Sort of like his mini. Plus it means nothing for Herc or Thor to beat him now, Ares needs to beat up more people to regain credibility, and he'll only probably get to that in a lead role.

Anti-hero but to him the ends justify the means by death .

i like him better as a villan, thought dark avengers was perfect for him and the series was way too good to cancel !!!

Too bad he didn't do anything in that entire series...accept get killed by Sentry.

no arguments there but given time that series could have been huge and sentry/ares could have been the greatest tag team ever !!!
