I was lucky enough to be one of the winners that were selected in the recent Comic Vine/Archaia Studios Press contest where users were asked to write up a few paragraphs on the importance of independent publishing. I was randomly selected as a winner, and the prize was some free comics from Archaia. Needless to say, I was really impressed with what was sent. Everything from the artwork, the writing, to the story themselves is some of the best I've seen/read. I haven't read them all yet but from what I've experienced, these are some quality books. I had not previously been familiar with any of these books, but after reading some of them, I will most certainly be keeping track of them from now on (particularly Mouse Guard).
