Arak, Malagigi and The Iron Maiden make it to the Court of Carolus Magnus. But they receive a frosty reception by some of the king's knights. Soon Arak finds himself undergoing a trial-by-combat against one of the Realm's most powerful knights. Meanwhile all are unaware of a great evil growing in their midst.

One of the great things about Bronze Age comics is their length. Modern comics, largely due to printing costs, cap their page count at far fewer pages, while Silver Age comics had a high page count, but split those pages over two, three or even four or more stories per issue.
