Not as Good as Previous Outings
Someone besides myself must have noticed how well new artist Ron Randall drew attractive women last issue, because in this very next issue, Arak comes across a whole forest full of 'em.
But attractive women aside, Randall put most of his best work into the previous issues, because his art is pretty stilted this time out. It's just not up to the quality of issues 26 and 27.
As usual, the highlight is the Valda backup feature, which features collaboration between Randall and Tom Yeats on art - which is more than a notch above the headlining feature. The story is similarly superior - reading almost like an actual Medieval legend, rather than the more hackneyed sword and sorcery tale of the main feature. It's all-around like last issue, but not as good. Even superfan T.M. Maple writes in again, but with fairly inconsequential comments.
