The film opens a few years after the escape. Atlanna and her son drive a plane over the Bermuda Triangle when suddenly-appearing cyclones bring it down. Atlanna is abducted by Siren. Orin is left behind with the necklace of his mother and confused memories. A decade later, Orin goes by "Arthur Curry" and barely remembers his mother. He likes diving undersea and feels dolphins are calling to him. In rapid order Arthur discovers his ability to breath underwater, his Atlantean heritage and Siren who came back to finish the job.

The pilot was not broacast in television as originally intended. Instead it was released on the iTunes Store. It became the first show available on iTunes which had not previously aired on a network and soon became a hit.In 2007 it was both released on DVD and received its first television broadcast at YTV, a Canadian television network.

Could've been a great show 0

I was skeptical at first about an Aquaman show but after watching this pilot I changed my mind about it. Justin Hartley is really good as Orin/Arthur Curry/Aquaman butAlan Ritchson who currently plays him on Smallville is better.  Siren is played by the incredibly hot Adrianna Palicki. Lou Diamond Phillips is good as Orin's surrogate father. Ving Rhames plays McCaffrey a fellow Atlantean who is still loyal Orin and his parents. For a pilot it actually has a decent story.
