He hasn't had it for quite some time, and as the new 52 has made quite clear, the fish are not his friends. He telepathically compels them to do his will, like a slave-master. Anyway, Hook-hands are bad ass.

On one hand, that annoys me because Aquaman always said if he commands rather than requests, the sea will lose respect for him. That made him awesome, he worked to earn their loyalty through kindness, not force.
