Emperor Aquaman (Flashpoint) Respect Thread

#1 Edited by comicfan11 (740 posts) - - Show Bio

This is the respect thread for Emperor Aquaman and his appearances during the period the DC Universe was altered to the Flashpoint timeline. Focusing on his feats and fights.

Emperor Aquaman's "profile", a more militaristic version of the character.

Aquaman's warrior training since childhood, acknowledgment as the most powerful Atlantean ever and a scene of him leading the Atlantean armies against an underwater race.

The location of Atlantis and the world reaching effects of the war between Atlantis and Themyscira

Now on to the actual feats.

Punches Ocean Master after a bad remark, make's him bleed (Super strength)

Fights (more like obliterates) Deathstroke and his Crew, with some help from Orm

First he jumps on the ship and stabs Deathstroke taking him out of the fight in one move

The same scene (showing Super Leaping, Reflexes and Fighting Skills)

Casually kills Machiste with his own weapon (showing Reflexes and Skill)

Kills Scavenger, the Superboy villain after kicking Clayface, dodging point blank blasts (showing Agility, Leaping, Strength and Fighting Skills)

Kills Clayface by taking him deep in the ocean where the pressure is to much even for a metahuman (showing Super Swimming Speed and Super Durability)

Finally departs leaving Deathstroke and his Crew devastated.

Aquaman meets WW for the first time and save's her life

Aquaman arrives and saves WW (showing Super Swimming Speed, Super Strength and Fighting Skills)

Emperor Aquaman tries to make peace with the Amazons after the mysterious death of Hippolyta, but both AQ and WW are manipulated into conflict

Tanks WW's enraged punch while still trying to achieve peace (Super Durability)

Tanks WW's sword slice, which leaves a characteristic scar and leaves when the Amazons sacrifice their island (Super Durability)

Emperor Aquaman vs Queen Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman arrives in Aquaman's command ship and the battle begins (showing Super Strength, Reflexes and Fighting Skills)

After a brief pause the fight continues due to the real conspirators manipulations, with Aquaman having a definite advantage underwater, forcing Wonder Woman to run for her life (showing Super Strength, Super Durability, Reflexes and Fighting Skills)

Aquaman decides to pursue WW instead of trying to disarm the potentially Earth shattering weapon. He leaps to a near invisible plane, piercing it and casually disposing the Amazon pilot (showing Super Leaping, the Trident's Durability and Skills as a pilot)

The fight begins again on New Themyscira, and Aquaman gains the advantage nearly succeeding to blind WW until the fight is interrupted by Captain Thunder, which save's WW (showing Super Strength, Fighting Speed and Fighting Skills)

The fight resumes again and it's the last part which ends with AQ and WW locked in combat (AQ showing Super Strength and Fighting Skills)

Aquaman tags Flash

Aquaman grabs Flash before he can help Billy Batson (showing Reflexes and Reaction Time)

Aquaman (and Wonder Woman) vs Superman

Superman arrives and charges at AQ and WW. They tank the hit and fight back. After that the Atlantean device detonates while they are still locked in combat (AQ showing Super Durability and Super Strength)

Confirmation of Emperor Aquaman's Telepathy

Emperor Aquaman captures Geo Forces

After manipulating him (with the help of Mera) into believing they are allies (showing Strategic, Diplomatic and Leadership Skills as well as a cunning Intellect)

The Atlantean super weapon

Aquaman use the device for the first time, leveling part of Europe

The power source of the device is revealed

After the Amazon / Atlantean conspirators reveal their plan, Vulko detonates the device, despite Aquaman trying to prevent it.

And that's it for Emperor Aquaman of the Flashpoint period, one of the most bad@ss DC characters in a long time (along with regular Aquaman of course).

This character is a villain, nearly completely unsympathetic and responsible for millions of deaths (portrayed in the "small" images due to the violent content) and eventually the total destruction of the planet, a completely opposite direction of where the character usually stands. Nevertheless Emperor Aquaman is a powerhouse and this thread is dedicated to the ridiculous amount of bad@ssery he brought during the time the DC Universe was turned to Flashpoint Universe.

All hail King Emperor Aquaman!

Nice I didn't like Mera's portrayal in the movie though, correct me if I'm wrong but I think she captures Geo-Force though meaning she does have some skill in combat.

@justthatkid: In the comic she manages to fight and hurt Wonder Woman a little before she goes down which is quite impressive. But during the Geo Force incident everything is a set up (she doesn't actually hurt anyone not even the supposed "assassin" which was acting according to Aquaman's plan)

@comicfan11: I wish they had added Brion instead of replacing him to the flashpoint story the alliance thing interested me.

Wow man I think you just posted the entire Emperor Aquaman series on here...haha

@justthatkid: There was not enough time. The movie is like what? 80 mins? Honestly the could make Flashpoint a two parter quite easily like the Dark Knight Returns. In that case the war between Amazons and Atlanteans could be more clearly established. But in the time they had I think they did good, although they changed some things.

@comicfan11: I guess I can agree part 1 and 2 would of been awesome though.

@justthatkid: Agreed.

@batmannflash: Nah, not even close lol. It's just the feats and many of them are contained in other books also.

Interesting thread. Not in the least a fan of Emperor Aquaman though. Not a fan of elseworlds/alternate times in general, really.

@blackwind: Understandable. I really like them since they are meant to be radically different than the regular interpretations.

Flashpoint is interesting (moreso than most of the other alternate reality stories) due to 2 reasons.

a) It was actually the main DCU that turned to the Flashpoint universe replacing the previous one for a while

b) It has become quite popular with the release of the animated feature and known to more people than the regular comic book fans.

And in this universe Aquaman is one of the most important characters, so a respect thread seemed like a natural thing.

Of course I prefer the regular version of Aquaman, that goes without saying.

Cool.

Though, are any of these feats applicable to regular pre-reboot Aquaman, because it was an alternate timeline, rather than an alternate universe?

Flashpoint is a unique situation because during the time of the event, that was the main universe and not some alternate reality (like Ultimate universe in Marvel).

The characters are basically the same as pre DCnU, same powers and whatnot with the only difference being that the JL never met due to Barry's actions.

So technically all feats should be valid, since the power levels were supposed to be the same, but the personalities of the characters were changed.

Ah cool. Thanks for the info, man.

Long live Emperor Aquaman!
