Taking on the Other Side 1

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. It's Aquaman, and it's back to the same quality as the first arc after the little dip with issue 6. The general comic community can't keep telling you to buy this title, but there's really no valid reason you shouldn't have at least enjoyed this on some level. Issue #7 was fantastic, and nicely sets the series up for the introduction of the Others.First of all, Johns has the right idea to make the main antagonist of this arc Aquaman's archnemesis, the Black Manta. John's se...

    Meeew! Cat Fight! 0

Aquaman #7 can easily become one of the best comics of 2012. Black Manta returns! The Others are introduced! A cat fight! And a real panther fights with one made of water! Ivan Reis, Joe Prado, and Rod Reis are the dream team! Please check my mini-review here:http://bit.ly/H0S47ZComments and feedback are always welcome!...

Look, it's better than the Green Lantern banner because I get the point of this one. It's not hyping a movie that didn't need extra hype, and its for a good cause. But it doesn't change the fact that the "We Can Be Heroes" banner is a huge detriment to the covers its on. Or, whatever again. This cover has A LOT of blue, so it actually kind of works. I like the intense facial expressions on everyone, and the balance is ok. But where the cover really stands out is the way the artifacts on each cha...

After sort of toying with getting into this next story arc over the previous two issues, here the plot jumps right into the action and doesn't pull any punches.  It starts with Black Manta hunting down a previously unseen character and ends with a new character named Ya'Wara trying to kill Shin.  In between as has become the standard in this series is a really fast paced and well told story as Arthur has to deal successfully with no threats as they arise.  The series lost a little steam muddling...

Something Wicked This Way Comes 0

Aquaman issue 7 begins with an excellent little scene that leads to a character reveal in a wondrous way. The book, a little too fast-paced for my own liking, begins the next story arc with a tease of back story and an encompassing story that should take a few issues. All-in-all, Aquaman 7 is a great book and is leading into some things we haven't yet seen in the new Aquaman. Get this and enjoy the villain reveal and enjoy yourself....

Well, they've done it. Taken a title that started off as one of DC's best of the 'New 52' and allowed it to slip back to standard superhero comic fare. This issue is like every average superhero comic of the last 20 years. In fact, so generic is it, that if you were to change the names of the characters and the colors of their costumes (and maybe change the name of 'Atlantis'), I wouldn't recognize it as Aquaman at all - I'd totally believe you if you told me it was put out by Top Cow or some ot...

    Phenomenal 0

Aquaman continues to set the bars high for New 52 with yet another mysterious, action-packed and engaging story. I loved the start of this issue, which begins in a jungle in Brazil where a brutal murder happens by none other than Black Manta himself! Masterpiece....
