ok, most of you on here know me by now... i'm not one to stand for BS, people saying this comic is the best, or this comic is... blah blah, not my style...

now you're going to see my break this rule...

seriously, i have just got hold of the first 6 issues of Anita Blake: Guilty Pleasures.

at first i was a bit aprehensive about the comic, the books are amazing and i didn't see how the comics would be able to live up to them.

putting that thought aside i stepped in...

first impressions of the artwork...

ok, i try and play it cool but my jaw hit the floor... the artwork isn't subtle by any standard, but it's absolutely perfect for the story they are telling.

the script was taken pretty much word for word out of the first book (Currently they are on book 14 with more to come), it was just as funny/sad/scary as the book.

the characters are drawn pretty much as i imagined them, right down to Anita's penguin collection ;)

all in all this series kept me entertained for ages, if they keep making it (Please, please please...) i will defninitely keep reading it, at least up untill they do Obsidian Butterfly... after that it will kinda turn into Hentai lol

seriously though, if you haven't read the comic, even if you haven't read the books, pick up an issue, read it. i can pretty much promise you'll love it.

Hey I've read the comics. I got someone from the wizard pages (darth_frodo)to add a ton of character profiles here. It's a decent read. I kinda like the art. I haven't read the books. I am curious to see how it goes. Don't like that there's gonna be a wait after issue 6.

Frodo did a lot. I guess if you look at the issues http://www.comicvine.com/comic/anita-blake-vampire-hunter-guilty-pleasures/18119/&i=41642 you can see that a lot of the minor characters have pages. Also, "Amber" is into it also. She's not too active on these boards but likes the comic.

I think that was a question frodo had. I suppose technically we're supposed to stay closer to the comic but I'd say since this is more of a "guilty pleasure" and not too many people are aware of it, we could go around that. I know one of the "kids" here has been filling the Simpsons pages with info from the episodes versus stuff from the comics. So it's all good. Knock yourself out.

whoah... cool thanks

the only problem is, with a lot of stuff in the books, it's highly sexual stuff... NC17, 18, R, whatever you want to call it...

that might be a problem on here...

i'll try and do my best anyway...

Just use your judgement. You know we have some young'uns here. You don't have to go into graphic details. You can mention if there's freaky sex going on but we don't need positions or anything.

lol 'Freaky sex', yeah that sounds like anita blake lol

i think the words 'necrophila' and 'beastiality' take on a whole new meaning when 3 somes between vampires, necromancers and wereleoppards come into affect.

i'll do the Edward page first, you can check from there to make sure i haven't crossed any boundries.

I'm sure it'll be fine. I also think the "kids" probably won't patrol around those pages and probably don't even know who Anita Blake is.

Just don't write any spoilers into the character profiles, Methos! I think I wrote everything as if you JUST started reading the comic, so I didn't give away any info about what happens with Anita and Jean-Claude. And all the wereanimals and whatnot. Don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't read the books.

My question is, if they keep making the novels into comics, how much info can we add to the character profiles without spoiling anything for anyone who hasn't read the comics or books? Do we just add it all at the bottom with big "SPOILER!!!!" warnings?

I'd say when something comes out in the comic, it can be added to the page. For example, when Captain America #25 came out, I added on his page that he got shot. People should know that the closer to the end of the bio is the more updated information.

Thanks, G-Man. I'll probably just add something like this to the end of the regular bio:

SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE WHOLE SERIES!!!

New info will go here."

hmmm.... good idea...

i'll stick that on all the pages i do for spoiler stuff :D
