Can't wait to get my hands on this book!!! Enjoy!!!
This looks like it's gonna be sooo good.Indeed!!!
Can't wait for him to break the fourth wall.
Can't wait for him to break the fourth wall.I'm ready for this. Cover is great too.
You know this is one of the relaunches I look forward too. This, Swamp Thing, and JL Dark. Were gonna have some in depth discussions. Jeff Lemire rocks
Gross... looks like he's undergoing a metamorphosis for new powers??? idk
Didnt read any of the original series. Heard some weird stuff about it. Will give it a look though. It might surprise me.
I won't read the preview because I want to go into these books completely fresh but this is definitely one of the most exciting new #1's for me...as the current Animal Man was a pale shadow of his former greatness, I don't mind that he's getting a reboot with a creative team that wants to follow up Morrison and Delano...although I do find it impossible to imagine what a run inspired by both would be as the runs while both amazing are quite different IMO
Morrison wrote a run about the man and Delano wrote a run about the animal

@aztek_the_lost: Indeed, all we know for sure is that the book is a horror title and it's core focus is family. Maxine will be the true "main character", which I think will be rather interesting.
Well Maxine was set up for the main character role in Delano's run...I just hope she's aged in the past fifteen years but I doubt it, I'm not usually that interested in child protagonists but I sense great things with this book and hope not to be disappointed...although I have to ask whatever happened to Buddy's other daughter? was she retconned out of existence? I didn't really like Prosser's Animal Man but I'm kind of curious if that was a plot thread that was thrown out (Buddy's extramarital affair) or not...I never really followed DC's Animal Man but as far as I know his youngest daughter was never used
And you've now moved outside my sphere of knowledge, folk lol@JonesDeini said:

oh...well she was born in the last issue of the Animal Man series (written by Jerry Prosser who took over for the last ten issues before the book was cancelled)...as I said, I wasn't really a fan of his stuff BUT the coitus that resulted in the baby happened in Delano's run which is why I am kind of curious if Lemire says he's building off of Delano, if he has any intentions to deal with that thread or not and the idea of the two sisters relationship seems like an interesting one IMO
but I get the impression he mostly intends to share the feel and themes of Morrison and Delano moreso then actual plot...either choice would be fine as long as the story's good but I don't really see the Delano stuff being considered canon...I mean if we were to continue where Delano left off, Buddy would need to be resurrected again :P
Reboot/Resurrection...tomato to-mah-to lol@JonesDeini said:

Yeah. It's gonna be awesome-sauce incarnate!
I've only read a little bit of Morrison's run, but I'm really excited to see him rebooted.
I am one of those people you read about that's a big fan of the original series, so I'm critical on this character being rehashed in the way a Watchmen fan would be seeing
those characters make a comeback. That being said I read this last night and fell in love with everything about it, and plan on reading it until the day it concludes and making it a priority to get each issue. Thank you Mr. Lemire for not only just taking an uber-fascinating character and keeping him that way, but for completing the number one stated mission of the revamp and providing me with a great read.

Glad you enjoyed it! I've been meaning to ask those well versed in Animal Man how they felt about it.
