The happy go lucky hero that can emulate the powers of any animal on earth.

It is widely believed that Buddy acquired his powers after an alien spacecraft crashes near him while working as a stunt man. But in actuality he was gifted with these abilities after a shaman cast a spell that somehow connected him to the ‘Lifeweb’ or Morphogenetic Field on earth. Buddy does not keep his Animal Man identity secrete and his alter ego is common knowledge in the super hero community. The Justice League of America is DC's premier super-hero group, comprised of most of its most powerful and characters. Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are the leading members of the Justice League.
