Storytime With Socks 0

So, this cover isn't too stellar. Oh sure the art is great and all, but the whole thing is just WAY too stiff. There's no sense of movement or dynamism.But the interior art has no such problem! I'm torn on whether I think Timothy Green II should've replaced Travel Foreman on interiors instead of Steve Pugh. Green certainly has a style closer to Foreman than Pugh does. Rot from the Past 0

THE GOOD: The art in this issue is decent. Timothy Green II does a great job at copying Travel Foreman's style from the beginning of the series. He also adds the amazing paneling from the current Swamp Thing series. I also really like how he is very good at making sure things are where they were the next time you see them. The story is amazing. Jeff Lemire manages to introduce you to new characters in a different time, with a similar situation. The results are an amazing story with a lot of emot...

Wanting to learn more about her role in the war of the rot Maxine asks Socks about the history of the red and the green. Socks recounts the tale of Jacob Mullin and Jack crow to her; the animal man and swamp thing of the 1800s.Animal Man and Swamp Thing have been my top two books of the new 52 initiative, so to see the characters team up for a giant one-shot story was a great treat for me (even if it's technically not the proper characters from the respective series).
