I'm torn on how I feel about the beginning of this issue. I LOVE that Lemire completely acknowledges Morrison's run from beginning to end in one go, but I find it hard to believe that what we're shown is supposed to be stranger than that. Morrison had some intensely trippy things, like comic book limbo and the breakdown of the 4th wall; not to mention the 2 issue literal trip on Peyote. Whatever we see just kind of pales in comparison to that, and the description of Morrison's run as a dream wil...

Animal Man number 9. I loved it, you'll love it, let's talk about it.First of all, I was a bit hesitant over Steve Pugh's arrival on this title. Travel Foreman did such a wonderful job the first arc, and the issues where they began to split up art duties were uneven, to say the least, and a bit inconsistent. Here, Pugh has full control over every panel of the book, and he seems to have really come into his own. The general style is still the same, and the book clearly isn't as beautifully grotes...
