    Interesting how you mention about the correlation between Animal Man and Swamp Thing...because I've kinda felt the same way about Lobdell's Superboy and Teen Titans...yeah its not necessary to have both to enjoy either title, but its more or less like good suggestion. Very solid review by the way. You really are making me tempted to dip into what limited funds I have to go for this title now and catch up!

    I figured this issue would be a treat for you Jones. You've mentioned how much you dug Pontecelli on Unknown Soldier before. I got the biggest kick out of seeing the yellow aliens in this issue. Jeff Lemire shows how you can really take a new approach in the new 52 without throwing out everything there was before. I was so happy he found a use for the aliens. I really like Buddy's power upgrade and the reasoning behind it. It makes for some very strong visuals. Not that this book needed it.

      With Travel Foreman's full departure from the series, we have Steve Pugh's first cover, and it's not really that great. The layout is very sporadic, not well thought out, and the whole image just feels a bit crowded.       THE GOOD: Alberto Ponticelli is the penciler in this issue. I really like the way that he draws Buddy and all the different forms that he takes in this issue. He also manages to continue this ever dark feeling that all the other pencilers have contributed. I also really like his facial expressions. They add a lot to the story and the characters.
