I THINK ARCHANGEL CAN HOLD DOWN A SERIES BY HIMSELF. WHAT ARE YOU THOUGHTS
Angel
Character » Angel appears in 7419 issues.
A mutant and original member of the X-Men, Warren received his angelic wings at a young age along with a unique healing factor in his blood. After being twisted into a weapon of Apocalypse, Warren became the cold and distant Archangel. In the years since then, he's gone back and forth between his two identities.
WHY HASNT ARCHANGEL GOTTEN HIS OWN SERIES?
Nah, he lacks the things needed to be a good character. Cool powers (oohh I'm Angel I can fly....good for you, so can Miss Marvel, Superman, and hundreds of others, although all you can do is fly, everyone else with flight has a secondary power they can use), and a good personality (rich boy with a split personality, you can't really develop from that).
I like what they're doing with him in Uncanny X-Force and from the looks of it, it isn't going to end well for Angel. So I highly doubt you'll get an Archangel series cause all signs are pointing to his death.
I don't really get the whole "Let's give this or that guy his own series". With someone like Archangel, or most other team characters, the thing that makes them good, is seeing them interact with the other teammembers. I love Beast, but i almost garantee i would not buy a solo series with him, because those types of series just tend to not be very good

I don't really get the whole "Let's give this or that guy his own series".Some people prefer team books while others prefer solo titles. It's really not that complicated and you certainly shouldn't expect everyone to feel the same way. When characters have their own series they can be explored more deeply and grow into even better characters.
True, but when you take a member of a team and give them a solo title, you take them away from there team members thus stripping them of those personal relationsships....Theres also the case of which book "Matters". I just hate the thinking behind those kind of solo titles: "This or that X book is popular now, and people seem to really like this character from the book, so lets take him out of the book, and give him his own, removing him of all the elements that made him a great character in the first place, and give him a suporting cast that no one will care about, because they will all be gone ones the title is cannceled 12 issues from now."
I'm the biggest Angel fan in the world but even I think he works better as a supporting character. And to answer your question - because he's not popular enough.
He seems to be getting his due in the X-Force books if you ask me.agreed. though a mini dealing with his psyche before the x force book might be pretty cool.
As much as Warren is one of my all-time favourite characters (and I still crush on him when he's blue ;) he's not interesting enough to carry his own solo series. Writers either make him a frivolent playboy or an emo psychopath. Both aspects get very boring very quickly.
