Ampersand is a Capuchin monkey, and one of the few male mammals to survive the plague that hit the world. He may hold the key to the plague and mankind's survival.

He is a Capuchin monkey and was formerly a test animal who became a pet of Yorick Brown's after a mishap at an airport. He was was given a serum through some experimental testings and was somehow able to survive the plague.
