Amonians are a bio-synthetic slave race in the Gold Digger universe who resemble humans of average height and slender athletic build, but with salamander-like skin in varying colors. They were created along with Dragons by the Saurians, an ancient Earth race of hyper-intelligent dinosaurs. Where as the Dragons were variations of the dragon elder Exthilion created for manual labor, the Amonians were variations of their progenitor Amon designed to be living, psionic, personal computers.

Like Dragons and Saurians, Amonian minds could be copied into "environmental shells" - temporary bodies for use in environments too hazardous for their normal bodies.

At least one Amonian was used by the pseudo-Saurian Befadoc during his devastating raid on the Djinni realm of Yl'Dahjim. During the Amonian/Dragon rebellion against their Saurian creators, most of the Amonians were driven insane and wiped out by the psionic cry of the super-weapon Gigliathon .

In modern times, Gina Diggers and Ryan Tabbot confronted an active (but empty) Amonian environmental shell under the Egyptian pyramids. It has been shown that Ayane Anno is in fact one of the last Amonians in existence and that her servants Jarvis and Jeeves are Amonian environmental shells. It has also been shown that Theodore Diggers' mother Oracle was also an Amonian, making him and Gina Amonian/human hybrids.
