AMERICA'S GOT POWERS #1

When i first heard of this comic, I wasn't one of those people who say "THIS IS A RIP-OFF OF THE HUNGER GAMES/AMERICAN IDOL/AMERICA'S GOT TALENT" In translation "This is too silly, I'm not gonna buy it" but too me I see this comic with alot of potential, it is something that i have not seen done with this kind of genre in comics, realistically speaking when you are in the comic book world, When you have superpowers there are two scenarios and it would be you either want to help people or destroy the world (Make it three if you want to be an anti-hero). But in this universe, it is pretty much you are being forced to participate in this game. I love this idea, It is a basic concept. In this first issue they show you many fun things they can do with this concept and it is accompanied by a very very good script/writing, It's simplicity at it's best, It's a fun yet creative concept. There's nothing really new when it comes to the story itself (besides the game show), The kid, Tommy Watts looks like he's gonna have that ZERO TO HERO storyline (only people who read the comic will get that pun), that he will somewhat be pushed in all the bad events that are going on (will happen in the upcoming issues). I do like the script of this book, The announcers made it sound like you are really in the arena watching all these kids throw down. The art from Bryan Hitch is perfect in this book, there wasn't that one moment in the book where i spotted that one part where the art looks off/bad. From start to finish, This is a pretty good build up (the pacing is great) for what's to come in the upcoming issues, i love this book, I highly recommend getting this book.
TO ME THIS IS MY PICK OF THE WEEK
I'LL GIVE IT A:
5/5
