    Mimiteh's Origin

I don't read much Vertigo, but out of what I do get, American Vampire is my favourite title. After reading Ghost War, the plot started to build up perfectly, which left me really excited for the next arc, but unfortunately, we got Beast in the Cave. I'm not saying this wasn't a good comic, but it went all the way back to the past just when things were getting exciting.

Anyway, although I wasn't much happy with the announcement of this arc, Snyder is full of surprises, therefore, he manages to give us an enjoyable read. This issue goes all the way back to 1793, where we see Mimiteh's origin. It was all nicely done, as we could see how she became a vampire and her whole journey is perfectly described. The whole thing is really creepy, and that's what made it cool.

Another good thing about this is that we can really see who Skinner Sweet actually is. It turns out he may be deadlier this way than with the blood on his teeth. This issue also had a nice ending, and it should be nice to see how this will all turn out for the americans and how in the world Skinner will become a vampire.

I wasn't really happy with the change of artists. Don't get me wrong, though, Bernet's art is also very good, but it doesn't even come close to Albuquerque's work. In my opinion, Rafael's artwork fits American Vampire better than any other artist, and I would not like to see him go.

Overall, this was a fairly enjoyable read, although it wasn't epic. And, man, I really miss Albuquerque's art. I'd say this gets a solid 7/10.
