    AMBUSH BUG #3

    This book starts off brilliantly. Discussing the lost characters of Earths past in the DCU. Actually, these little vignattes are spread through out the book, as it ends up being a series of one page gags.

    And at the end of the book, we are promised a showdown with Darkseid.

    The best of which are the aforementioned revisits to old characters, the Inferior Five ranting about Bug stealing their gig, and Bat mite the latter years. There are some gags that go nowhere, but they are far and few between. Overall the book remains fun, and gives up all pretense of having a story.

      If there can be said to be an actual formula for this not so serious series, this issue jumps off of it significantly.  Here the issue exists as a sequence of mostly non sequitur vignettes with little structure or continuity between them.  There are some good moments, I did enjoy the lampooning of a particularly bad era of Wonder Woman (with Egg-Fu, Wonder Tot and the Glop) but there was just so much to try to assimilate here, and it didn't help that only about a half of the jokes were funny whi...
