If you could make your own merged Marvel/DC superheroes or supervillains like Amalgam Comics, who would you make, what would be his secret identity, what would his background be? etc.
Marvel Comics and DC Comics
While normally competitors, a handful of times through the decades the two publishers have joined together to jointly publish individual issues.
What merged Marvel/DC characters would you make?
One good merge could be between Thor and Capt. Marvel. Here's his origin story and powers.
When teenage, partially disabled Donald Batson (Donald Blake and Billy Batson merged) discovered the Asgardian wizard named Othinn (Odin and Shazam! the wizard merged), he was chosen by the wizard to hold the powers of 6 of Norse mythology's greatest heroes and gods in order to become "Capt. Thunderer". Capt. Thunderer is bestowed...
- the stamina of Onar
- the strength of Tyr
- the speed of Hermoth
- the wisdom of Ivalde
- the power of Njord
- the courage of Nicor
To control these powers, Donald need only shout "OTHINN!". These powers will be similar to Capt. Marvel's abilities but more Nordic. Capt. Thunderer is a full time member of the ALJ (Avenger's League of Justice)
Capt. Marvel + Thor = Capt. Thunderer
one good merge i thought of is the living tribunal and the spectre to make the living spectre and job is to well what the jobs of both lt and spectre were
One cool merging could also be Martian Manhunter and Silver Surfer. Here's his backstory and powers.
On the planet Mars, lived a race of Silver Martians, one of them being the humble being named Norin J'onnz (J'onn J'onnz and Norin Rad merged). He had a family of a daughter and a wife and lived a peaceful life. But soon his evil, intergalactic half-brother, Galactefic (Malefic and Galactus merged) appeared and unleashed the H'ronmmer's Plague in order to devour Mars. Galactefic was a martian like Norin but turned into an alien titan due to a reason unknown to anyone but himself therefore forcing him to devour planets in order to survive. Norin then scowered the planet looking for any survivors untill he was summoned by Galactefic to serve as his herald, But Norin would only serve his half-brother if he wouldn't devour Mars, since it was the only thing Norin had closest to his people left. From there on, Norin was given the "power cosmic" and a board to help him travel the universe and surfed as the "Cosmic Manhunter". Eventually, Norin betrayed his master and went into hiding on Earth untill he was discovered by the ALJ (Avengers League of Justice) therefore allowing him to work along new friends rather than hiding in the streets. Galactefic still searches for his servant in order to make him suffer.
Cosmic Manhunter has the powers of both Martian Manhunter and Silver Surfer merged together, making him a very powerful being. He is a full-time member of the ALJ.
Martian Manhunter + Silver Surfer = Cosmic Manhunter
Interesting thread Moomin.
I would merge Bruce Wayne and Matt Murdock.
The last thing the little boy saw before went blind was his parent being killed! The robber after killing his parent shot at the little child, so it would leave no witness, but missed shooting a near by truck that contained dangerous toxic wastes, with mutagens properties, the robber listen someone coming and run away.
Both superheroes are in the peak of the human physical condition, excellent acrobats and experts in martial arts. When merged character will have also the Matt's super senses and Bruce's intellect and equipment.
I've also enjoyed the idea of a blind Batman with super senses. It's more like a bat.
I don't know how I would call him. But in uniform he looks more like Batman and in civilian clothing he looks more like Matt.
I've got another one. What do you get when you mrege Batman and Spider-Man? You get Spider-Bat!
When young Bruce Parker was just a boy, his parents were shot down by a mugger and was left on his own until the police showed up. When young Bruce was sitting in the station waiting for his beloved butler, Benjamin (Uncle Ben and Alfred Pennyworth merged) he saw a spider outside on the window ledge fight off against a bat trying to devour it. This little spider inspired Bruce that he shouldn't lay around as his beloved Gotham City was falling to the power of crime but the bat also inspired him to use darkness and fear to get this city the justice it deserves. From there on he would become Spider-Bat.
Spider-Bat has web-shooters, wall-crawling abilities due to his technological gloves and other various gadgets on his belt that he carries. Spider-Bat has his own car, the Tumbler (same as the car from Batman Begins and Dark Knight except with a different colour scheme) and his own cave, the Bat-Web. He is provided help from his butler Benjamin and is a full-time member of the ALJ (Avengers League of Justice)
Batman + Spider-Man = Spider-Bat
"Interesting thread Moomin. You could call him Devil-Man or Bat-Devil maybe?

Another merge could be between Wolverine and Hawkman. They could become Hawk-Claw.
When a spaceship crashed near the palace of Pharaoh Lhugan, the pharoah had discovered the nth metal that gave him the ability to fly and to riencarnate across history, each time as a crime-fighter with the same flying abilities. In the present day, Lhugan was reborn as Logan Hall, a homeless Canadian who had the ability of rapid cellular regeneration and didn't develop flight until his meeting with William Stryker. He was then chosen for the Weapon X project to enhance the human skeleton with metal. Logan was then accidentally grafted with an adamantium/Nth metal alloy instead of ordinary adamantium, making him stonger than ever as he broke free from the machines grafting the metal into his body. Logan then discovered his flight ability and the ability to create metallic claws at will. Logan used these powers to escape the clutches of Stryker. Sooner or later, Logan started to recall memories of his past lives and then realised what he should use his powers for. He then donned a hawk-like costume and and became, Hawk-Claw. Hawk-Claw eventually joined the ALJ (Avengers League of Justice) and the Legion X (X-Men and Legion of Super-Heroes merged).
Hawk-Claw's abilities consist of Hawkman's flight but it is able to be used without Nth metal wings due to the Nth metal already inside his skeleton. Hawk-Claw also has Nth metal/adamantium claws which are indestructable. Due to his healing abilities and skeleton, Logan wil never die or age, therefore never riencarnate into another Hawkman.
Hawkman + Wolverine = Hawk-Claw

Maybe call him Demon Knight or Devil Knight.
Yet again, Moomin123 comes up with another merging between the world's 2 best comic book franchises. This time with a team of heroes. When the X-Men collide with the Legion of Super-Heroes...you get the Legion X.
When homosapiens started to develop mutant genes in their DNA, people develop superhuman abilties. Some used them for good, some for evil, and some for personal gain. But one day, Prof. Xavier Dox (Brainiac 5 and Prof. X merged) decided to help these newly-breeded superhumans and teach them how to use their powers. Here's some of the members below...
- Hawk-Claw a.k.a Logan Hall (Hawkman and Wolverine merged), the ability to fly and extract claws made from an adamantium/Nth metal alloy.
- Prof. Xavier Dox (Brainiac 5 and Prof. X merged), genius-level intellect and scientific knowledge.
- Visor a.k.a Garth Summers (Cyclops and Lightning Lad merged), Can manipulate electricity and fire lightning bolts from his eyes.
- Saturn a.k.a Imra Grey (Jean Grey and Saturn Girl merged), has the abilities of telepathy, telekinesis, cosmic pyrokinesis and resurrection.
- Lycan a.k.a Hank Londo (Beast and Timberwolf merged), animal-like strength, stamina, speed and agility. Claws and fangs.

You could call him Hellbat.
Quick...to the Hellbatmobile. Hellbat sounds cool but Hellbatmobile kinda lets the side down doesn't it?"

THIS IDEA CAME FROM THE GENIUS MIND OF BENJY123. I'm just writing it up for him. It's the merging of his 2 favourite heroes...Capt. America and Hal Jordan.
In the year 1943 during the Second World War, a US army soldier Hal Rogers was chosen as the test subject for the Super-Soldier program. When injected with a Super-Soldier serum, Rogers had his strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility and metabolism at maximum human potential or as the US army put it, "The Perfect Human". When he was paradropped in a French village on his first day in battle, Rogers was seperated from his squad through a death-defying artillery barge. Eventually he noticed a crashed aircraft of some sort in the middle of a nearby field. He explored the ship only to find an alien being, slowly dying in a strange costume. The alien called itself Abin Sur and passed Rogers a strange ring and lantern. Abin said that the ring was made of alien technology and that it could allow the wearer to do almost anything. Having explained how the ring worked, Abin eventually died and left Rogers with the alien ring. The ring became the colour of what Rogers held dearest to him most, therefore making the colour of the ring and lantern, that of the American flag (white, blue and red). Rogers then used the ring in the service of justice after the war and became the hero known by his country, the American Lantern.
Soon, Rogers accidentally time-travelled forward to the 21st Century with his ring. Although he didn't know the 21st Century much, he realised that this century had more crime and villainy than the 20th Century. He then decided to stay and he still serves Planet Earth in the ALJ (Avengers League of Justice).
Hal Rogers more or less has both of Green Lantern and Capt. America's powers.
Capt. America + Green Lantern = American Lantern

Hey, guess what I've got to post...another merged hero. This is a merging between the Hulk and Geo-Force. This guy will be called Geo-Hulk.
When Brion Banner, a Markovian scientist discovered he had the ability of terrakinesis, he used them to fight for his country against Baron. Thunderbolt DeLamb (General. Thunderbolt Ross and Baron Bedlam merged). But eventually, he was accidentally exposed to gamma radiation due to a government experiment gone wrong. From there on, whenever he uses his powers in a battle or in an angry situation, Banner turns into a terrakinetic brute...known only as Geo-Hulk. Geo-Hulk is a full time member of the ALJ.
Geo-Hulk possesses all the abilities of Geo-Force and the Hulk.
Hulk + Geo-Force = Geo-Hulk
Another merging is coming your way. This time between Kyle Rayner and Bucky. You get Kid Lantern, sidekick of American Lantern.
During World War II, American Lantern was serving his country as the US Army's top soldier due to his power ring. But a teenager named Kyle Barnes (Kyle Rayner and James Barnes merged), who adored the American Lantern more than anyone else, wanted nothing more than to join him on his adventures. When the oppurtunity to fight alongside his hero came to be, Kyle became American Lantern's sidekick and took the name Kid Lantern as his superhero alias. For a brief time, Kyle didn't wear a power ring like his hero but when he proved his bravery and courage to the Guardians of the Universe (I couldn't think of anything to merge them with), Kyle was given his own ring and lantern to use, therefore truly making him a real sidekick to his hero.
Kid Lantern eventually time-travelled forward into the 21st Century with American Lantern (accidentally) and fought for America there.
Kid Lantern possesses all the abilities of Kyle Rayner and Bucky.
Kyle Rayner + Bucky = Kid Lantern
Here's a merging. Black Knight and the Flash...Dark Paladin
Barry Whitman (Dane Whitman and Barry Allen) was a forensic analyst working for the Gloucester Police Department when a lightning bolt strook some chemicals he was analysing. The chemicals spilt all over him.
He went to the hospital to see whether he was ill. The doctor told him there was nothing wrong with him. Barry then left this accident behind to get back to work. It wasn't long however until his Uncle Nathan Thawne (Nathan Garret and Malcolm Thawne) passed away, giving Barry his castle. Barry moved to Slorenia and lived in the castle for at least 3 weeks before realising Nathan was the evil Dark Paladin. Barry discovered Nathan's costume and weaponry hidden deep in the basement. Only minutes after finding the suit, the Slorenian police raided the castle, having discovered that Nathan was a supervillain. Barry tried to escape the castle, but he didn't have enough time to run out before the police attacked. Barry then ran anyway. He ran and ran and ran. In about 5 seconds, Barry didn't reallise that he'd ran nearly 6 miles away from the castle.
It didn't take Barry long to realise this was due to the chemicals that spilt on him that night at the poolice station. Barry eventually trained with his super-human speed until he learnt how to use it properly. Barry believed that he should use his new powers for good, but in order to do so...he needed a costume. Barry then speedily ran back to the castle, where he took his uncle's Dark Paladin outfit and ebony blade named Flashstrike. He put it on himself, then making him the new, heroic Dark Paladin. He made alterations to his costume in order for people to see the difference between him and his evil uncle. His heroic actions gained him a place in the ALJ (Avengers League of Justice) and life-long friendship with the team's leader, Hal Rogers a.k.a American Lantern.
Dark Paladin's powers consist of superhuman speed and even the ability to phase through solid matter. He has also trained with Flashstrike, therfore making him a formidible sword fighter and hand to hand combatant.
The Flash + Black Knight = Dark Paladin
I know that this is three characters but what about Invisble Silver Lantern.
He is a combination between Invisble Woman, The Silver Surfer and The Green Lantern.
He basically has all their powers. He can harness cosmic energy and the lantern energy and he can turn invisible. HE CAN ALSO SURF THREW SPACE.
(His green lantern ring is silver)

Well power rings can turn people invisible so he could just be called the Silver Lantern.
I have a particularly foxy suggestion, and I don't care if this topic has been dormant for a couple months.
I actually made this character for an amalgam rpg I played way back when, lol
Think I used the imaginitive name of Bat-Devil...or Devil-Bat, I think it was Devil-Bat, I'll dig it out and post the stats and history sometime, lol
Imagine my surprise when I saw that no one suggested Iron Man plus Batman! He'd have the gadgets and detective skills of Batman, with a bitchin' robosuit.
For a name, I'm thinking Manman. Or maybe the Iron Bat.
Yeah, the Iron Bat sounds a bit better.
What about Rogue,Storm,Ms.Marvel,Wonder Woman,& Lady Shiva!!! WOW!!! IT WOULD BE A GUY THOUGH!! Hippolyta asked the gods for one more shot at a unique hero. On his way to becoming a great hero he would have to train with the Leauge of Assasins,he would experience new, amazing new powers along the way! He would have all their powers. NONE OF THEIR WEAKNESSES! He would still have his Star Sapphire ring!
Wondro!
martian manhunter-silver surfer-equinox-batman

deathstroke and iron man become Death man. a world class mercenary who is gravely injured by shrapnel and forced to build himself a suit of armor to keep his heart beating. the shrapnel which injured his heart also took his right eye.
