    Alpha Flight travel to Firefountain, a mystical healing place, save the life of Northstar. There, they are placed in precarious situations due to Loki, the mischievous Asgardian god. They are able to overcome their situations, but not without a price. Puck remains behind, free of the menace of Razer. Aurora gives her light energy to Northstar so he could live, but she is thrown in darkness. Northstar decides to remain in the realm of the elves when it has been revealed that his and Aurora's mother was actually an elf.

    Puck heads north to Ungava Bay with the team in search for a cure for Aurora, Northstar…and himself.  Judd returns to the place where Loki once offered both Alpha Flight and the X-Men the fire-fountain - a gift of power at the cost of creativity and magic.
