The History of the Alliance of Evil
Their first employer, Apocalypse
According to the mutant known called Apocalypse, he has existed since the dawn of man kind. Through-out his his existence he has been worshiped by many and by called by many names. From the ancient Egypt's were he was known as Set; the God of Death, Storm and Famine, to ancient Persia to even that of the Aztecs. Apocalypse claims that throughout human history he has "brought growth, judgment, and destruction." He believes and lives by the personal mantra that only the strong deserve to survive. A mutant himself, one of the first, Apocalypse rejects the philosophy that many follow, like Professor Charles Xavier (Professor X), that co-existence should be met between that of humans (baselines) and mutants. Instead, he wants mutants, not just any mutants but the most powerful, to dominate the Earth. Apocalypse believes that through open warfare between mutants and human, mutants will either grow stronger or die, and only the strongest will survive.
Following these beliefs Apocalypse has organized powerful groups of mutants together as teams. His most famous team is known as the the Four Horseman, but before even them he created the mutant group, now disbanded, known as the Alliance of Evil.
The Alliance of Evil is born
The Alliance of Evil is a team of superhuman mutants who acted as operatives lead and organized by Apocalypse. Each of the members of the Alliance of Evil were mutants, all born with a genetic twists allowing each of them to gain a superhuman power/s, most during puberty, that they could wield of their own accord. Each of them already powerful in their own right, else Apocalypse would not have chose them. The team's charter members included:
__Tower__:
Tower had the mutant ability to shunt mass to and from his body from an unknown extra-dimensional source, thus allowing him to either shrink down to mere inches in height or grow to incredible heights. When growing his strength would grow proportionately and increase thereby producing what looked like super strength, increased resilience and density. Power was never an issue for Tower, intelligence was a whole other matter. Tower was not the brightest of the team, quite dim-witted Tower usually lost battles due to being outsmarted rather then out powered, but was still one to have on your side then against your side.
__Frenzy (Joanna Cargill)__:
A mutant who possesses superhuman strength and steel-hard skin on her entire body. Hulkish is strength and appearance at nearly 7 feet tall. Frenzy's skin is so dense and highly resistant to injury it is even immune to injury by fire or heat. Frenzy is quite different then the average super strong muscle head. She, in fact, was quite intelligent and was of sound mind. As a result she was the active field leader for the Alliance of Evil and was quite good at it.
__Stinger (Wendy ?)__:
Still a minor, Stinger was already on the run from the law when Apocalypse would find and recruit her. A victim of the 80's in fashion and way of talking, her wildly colored hair and punk-style clothes belied a wanton criminal, willing to use her powers to any extent without hesitation. Stinger mutation allowed her to bodily generate and discharge electricity from her hands also allowing immunity to the effects of the electricity she generates or that of an outside source.
Later Members
__Timeshadow__:
Timeshadow would be found and recruited into the Alliance of Evil during their first mission to abduct the mutant power amplifier Michael Nowlan. He too was a patient at the U.S. military detoxification center. Already an adult, he, unlike most mutants did have his latent mutant powers active during puberty, instead they they were kicked into gear by a chance encounter with Michael Nowlan with they were both patients at the detox center. All it took was a for the two men to meet and shake hands and the energies wielded by Michael Nowlan, inadvertently activated the x-gene in Timeshadow turning his mutant powers on and earing him a spot on the team. As Timeshadow, his mutant powers allow him to manifest real life "phase forms" of himself which were actually temporal counterparts of himself from instances ahead of the present time. When manifested the quite literally act as a small army allowing him to over power his opponents by seer numbers. An army in one.
__Michael Nowlan (the Source)__:
Michael in short is a mutant power amplifier. Michael can bodily generate and release plumes of energies that, once release onto another mutant, could temporarily supercharge that individuals mutant energies. If too much energy is focused on one person it could result in a massive overload and have their mutant powers rage out of control. Michael's mutant powers do have side effects though, if too much is given for elongated time periods, it has the same reaction that narcotics do, the recipient will gain an addiction to it, needing for their survival (or thinking they do)
Harness was the mutant mother of Piecemeal with the ability to generate a thin coil of plasmic energy from her hand. Once created it could be used very similarly as a whip. Once contact is made with the "whip" the opponent could experience paralysis and or intense pain. Piecemeal was forced to follow orders by his mother mutant powers she also forced her son to use his mutant tracking powers to locate and absorb the lost ambient energies of the now decease/discorporated, reality warping mutant known as Proteus. In actuality Harness hired the Alliance of Evil as bodyguards for her mission, but because she participated in field battles is considered a member of the team as well. Harness used her son and pushed him, caring not for his welfare, until he ultimately absorbed Proteus entirely and then merged with him created an amalgamated Proteus/Piecemeal entity. Wishing to find solace the new Proteus/Piecemeal entity would chose to end his life rather then fight, once again discorporated their essences effectively killing both of them. Harness would be apprehended and incarcerated.
Seeking the SOURCE of power
For Apocalypse, there can never be too much power and a team can never be too strong. This way of thinking would lead to the Alliance of Evils first mission. and as a result the first mission this team of mutants were sent on were to recruit the mutant known as Michael Nowlan at any cost. Michael was a patient at a U.S. detoxification center. Michael had the unique ability to amplify and increase the power of other mutants that he focused his energies on. Not choosing to go willingly he would be abducted and taken to Apocalypse who would be successful in his ploy to persuade him to join the Alliance. Once he joined, Apocalypse would give him the codename Source. The Source would be a supportive player in the team using his powers to garner greater power level to his other teammates. Following a dose of the Source's energies, each of the members of the Alliance would see dramatically increased strengths in their mutant powers. The draw back to his power is that it was very addicting, those who its used on would eventually crave the power, need the power to continue. As a result each of the members of the Alliance of Evil would slowly grow their addictions until they were physically dependent on them. But, as long as the Source was there that wouldn't be a problem, but there in lies the problem.
Not too long after his recruitment, the Source would have a change of heart and would attempt to sever ties with the team. Unknown to the Alliance members Michael's abduction and extended absence would not go unknown. When he was taken X-Factor was notified and would make great timing saving Nowlan around the same time that he was attempting to leave. The Alliance would respond by instead kidnapping Michael's girlfriend and using her as blackmail to force him to return. Once X-Factor finds this information they would return to save her too with them would come Michael. Once there an all out battle ensued. Fairly evenly matched, the battle would seemingly last forever until Apocalypse finds Michael and forcefully begins to pressure Nowlan to return. Feeling cornered he would submit to Apocalypse's wishes and begin powering up the Alliance of Evil. Angered, Michael would begin releasing massive amounts of his amplifying energies upon his former teammates. Under normal circumstances, the minimals energies Michael would wield upon the Alliance would be sufficient, these staggering amounts of energies would surely have a negative effect. Each of the team would see levels of strength in their mutant powers that naturally would never have occurred. For the most part the Alliance managed the increased levels well. So increased were their powers that X-Factor began losing the battle. The problem was that Michael didn't stop amp'ing the Alliance up. Their power levels were quickly becoming overwhelming and hard for them to control, or even handle.
Too much power
Though the members of the Alliance relished their increased power levels, Stinger would find it to be a struggle to control her new amped powers. Making it even harder were the additional dosages Michael was pumping the Alliance up with. Still very new to her powers only being a teenager, and inexperienced to boot it's not a surprise that Stinger would lose control. Stinger would notice Nowlan's girlfriend attempt to escape and would try to stop her. Only wishing to take her down, Stinger would decide to send a small electrical charge to simply detain her runaway captive. Stinger, though, unable to cope with the additional energies would have them flare out of control. Stinger inadvertently, instead, releases a condensed electrical power blast. Once in contact it would kill the Michael's ex-girlfriend immediately. Nowlan saw everything and become enraged. He would begin draining the energies back from the Alliance into himself. He wished to weaken them so that they would lose. Under normal circumstances, his body may have coped with the energies just fine. This situation was quite different though. Due to the massive amounts of energies he released while he was angry, it would be far too much for his body to handle once it returned. Nowlan's body would quickly overload and cause huge explosion, big enough to destroy Apocalypse's base and put an end to the fight. Once over, Apocalypse would flee leaving his losing team behind to get caught by the authorities and placed in jail. Failing Apocalypse, one too many times, he no longer wished to use the Alliance of Evil as his team.
Mercenaries for Hire!
After Apocalypse left the Alliance, they would be arrested and quickly break out. Once out the team would become muscle for hire. They would work for the highest payer. Not all would agree with the new group dynamic, making the team turn into a trio. The new Alliance of Evil would now include Frenzy, Tower and Stinger.
the Kings of Pain
The teams next and last employer would come in the same of the awkward duo of Toad and Gideon. The Alliance's mission was to be the bodyguards of two mutants, Harness and Piecemeal. These two mutants were on a quest to locate and gather the dispersed energies of the dead, reality altering mutant, Proteus. Once reformed, the energies would be used to create an powerful army of super powered drones.
The new formation of the Alliance of Evil, including the two newer mutants, would initially find their task to be very easy. That is until the arrival of the X-Force, the New Warriors and the Muir Island X-Men. Although the super teams initially fought against each other, they would find the error in their ways and regroup accordingly. Unfortunately, tired as they might, the combined forces could not stop the Alliance from their goal, as Piecemeal was able to absorb the final portion of Proteus and he would merge with the entity, creating one new being. In the end the good side emerged victorious and the Alliance of Evil would end up in prison again. They would disband and not reform again.
Where are they now
After the final incarnation of the Alliance of Evil, many of its members would not be seen again. Source and Piecemeal would die in battle. Tower would later be killed by the X-Cutioner. Harness is in the employ of A.I.M. and possibly still in prison. Timeshadow and Stinger would not be seen again. Their whereabouts are unknown. The only individual still active is Frenzy. She is a loyal follower of Magneto's and a member of his Acolytes.
