The Bounty and the Sacrifice
Recommended!
The Bounty - This picks up right from the cliffhanger in the last issue - and Jonah is in a heap of trouble! This day was not a good day for him to die, and so the plot moves on. There is much more death, much more blood and a bit more suspense. In the end, Jonah is presented with just what he has been looking for since arriving in old Gotham. Classically, he provides a cordial introduction...
The Sacrifice - This story picks up right where it ended in the last issue. El Diablo will use curse against curse to attempt to assist the townspeople with their deadly problem. Though El Diablo does complete the majority of his goal, he is confronted by someone in his past - someone who forces his hand to make a difficult decision and sacrifice...
Both of these stories were great. While I would like to have seen more out of the El Diablo story, I understand the need to wrap it up, so another second story can take its place in the second half of the book. Some of the art in the Jonah story seemed rushed, but I am starting to think it is part of the "style". Either way, it doesn't detract from the story. The art in the El Diablo story appears to be more complete and adds a bit of color to this old west book. I am definitely looking forward to the next installment of the Jonah story and whatever is chosen as the next short story for the second half of the book.
