In This issue Lex Luthor decides to use the source of Supermans powers against him.
At this point, everyone and the mayor has praised this book. To tell you the truth, it is well deserved, for once you can believe the hype. The art may take a little getting used to at first. I did not much care for it, but then warmed up as I noticed it perfectly fits the story. If I were to try to pinpoint why I loved this book. I would have to say that there is a sense of wonder to it. That the character is really a "Super man" that is something rare to find in any title these days.

Wow, they aren't kidding when they say Grant Morrison loves to keep the silliness of the old days of superhero comics still intact, and how he loves paying homage to the past. I greatly respect him for working in such a way. That's why I decided to give this a read.

I've heard alot of good about this series, and even though I didn't really like Batman RIP, I did like what I read of the sequel Batman and Robin (honestly, only the first issue. I'm waiting for the paperback to continue reading it.) And again, Morrison's MO also got me interested.

It starts off with a team of scientists (Genetically engineered to lack fear, I might add. Just go with it, it's supposed to be silly.) Are on a dangerous mission to literally take a sample of the sun. But things go south, and to make it worse, one of the crew turns out to be an actual living suicide bomb sent by Luthor! (I told you, just go with it.)

But ol' Supes saves them with some new powers thanks to being solar powered and, you know, BEING RIGHT ON THE SURFACE OF THE SUN. When he gets the scientists back home to their boss's laboratory (I have no idea who that is. Since he's so heavy on light and wears a rainbow colored suit, I'll refer to him as Dr. Spectrum until I find out his real name.)

After thanking Big Blue for saving his crew, Dr. Spectrum reveals some bad news. Being so close to the sun has overloaded Superman's solar powered cells, causing them to slowly deteriorate. Now knowing that he only has a small amount of time alive left, after walking Lois home, he reveals his identity.

A nice start. I want to see how she'll react. Morrison and Quitely is probably my favorite team in mainstream comics right now.
