All Star Batman And Robin Boy Wonder #9: Of Course We're Bad Guys

"Care For A Glass Of Lemonade." - Batman. Frank and Jim work together to finish the series. Yeah I know the series ends at issue 10, however it was pulled back because of fowl language. So for know, lets say that issue 9 finishes this series. The story of Batman drafting a 12-year-old boy named Dick Grayson, and making him his ward and sidekick. Together Batman and Robin patrol the streets of Gotham fighting criminals and laughing insanely! Frank has done an incredible job with this series, encouraging others to write and draw even better "elseworlds" stories.

With Frank and Jim finishing up the series, it is always good to look back at what they have accomplished in this story line. Jim has done an incredibly terrific job at drawing this series, his artwork in this story might be even better than Batman: Hush. Frank has also done a good job. He has brought the elements of current comic book story lines, and made something new and unique for this series. Making Batman a bit more darker was unique to this comic. The story was well played through and the action/violence was awesome. While the words that Frank choose were bad choices, he still made up for his bad words and gave more intense scenes and issue 9, has been the greatest the Frank has written for the series. Frank Miller and Jim Lee have opened new doors for writers and artists to work together to create something unique and new. Hopefully in later times, other writers and artists will do a greater job than Frank and Jim. The ending for this issue felt right, with Batman and Robin both understanding that there parents were murdered right in front of them. This is the most coolest moment in the series.

Hal Jordan seemed to out of character. He was more of a clueless guy instead of a smart guy/take lead guy. The yellow was really colorful, maybe even to colorful. The first panel shows Batman all yellow, which is really weird and most of this issue is all in yellow.

    The Verdict

Friendship conquers hardship every time. Batman and Robin are know going to start acting like a team, and Batman seems to have found a friend. Frank and Jim close this series with a bang and the artwork goes perfect with the writing. Overall this is a 4.5 out of 5. Remember, A Refreshed Batman is always the Best Batman.
