All Star Batman And Robin Boy Wonder #8: A Special Way!

"And I'm Pretty Crazy Enough As It Is." - Batman. Frank and Jim continue to tell the story of the Dark Knight recruiting a young Dick Grayson onto his War On Crime. Frank and Jim also share some laughs when they add the clown prince of crime to the series. Batman continues to teach Dick Grayson the ways of being a Detective, and about the Joker. Green Lantern Hal Jordan appears in this issue as a guest star hero, along with Catwoman. Things take off as Dick Grayson picks his hero name, Hood! Wait that isn't right?

    The Good

Things are beginning to take off as Dick Grayson has picked his heroic name. In this issue, Frank focuses on the story and the characters instead of the action. However, Jim Lee's Joker cover has been the coolest cover yet. The dragon tattoos are really cool, and how Frank describes Joker is unique and different. From other "current" stories, Joker is more of a laughing riot, however in this series Joker is more disturbing and more violent than his current story line counterpart. It is good to see change in a character, however not to much change. The character shouldn't be exactly the same like the one in another story line. It is cool to see how different writers and artists take to the character. Like Frank Miller and Jim Lee's All Star Batman And Robin.

    The Bad

Yes! You are a minor Character Jordan!

What is up with the minor characters? Frank keeps bringing awesome characters into this story, however they aren't ever seen in action! Joker, Superman, Green lantern, and others all of them have been used. It is time to use the characters or stop showing them until Frank is ready to use them for some action.

    The Verdict

The partnership of Batman and Robin has begun. Next issue there will be a team-up with the two, and Hal Jordan will be seen once again in the next issue! This series is exciting and fun! With fights that will make you want to pick up every issue! Overall this is a 3.5 out of 5.

      Miller gets it right... 0

First of all, Im like a addict for these issues, they only get better. So Im Byas...But this issues art was (dare I say) even better; and the Neal cover is what a variant cover should be. I ordered it in advance... Miller takes Batman where he belongs--his inner thoughts, wise cracks, bitter crime fighter, and true detective. Lee masters the artwork for this one. Plus the Joker has the coolest tattoo. The only thing I did not like was the appearance of the nazi symbol on the chick. The Grayson ...

      Still waiting 0

Things are still taking a while to get started and Frank keeps tossing things in, but this was still a pretty good issue. Even though All Stars is kind of jumbled and choppy Jim Lee still manages to tie it in nicely with some slammin' art work.Ok, All Stars is different but not worth getting your panties in a knot. It's a good read for people interested in a gritty and slightly odd twist on characters. That nice dragon tattoo the Joker was sporting, well, to be honest I haven't see him shirtless...
