All Star Batman And Robin #6: Yeah, Franks Title Isn't Friendly!
"Eat Glass, Lawman!" - Batman. Frank and Jim continue to tell the story of, Batman kidnapping a young boy as his ward and sidekick! Batman lends a helping hand to Black Canary, Batgirl joins this series, and best of all Batman is laughing insanely even more! Things fire up when the two fight a whole bunch of thugs in Gotham's Shipyard! While Batman enjoys his job more than anything, Black Canary gets in deep when she battles gun-tooting Thugs. Her first night might be her last, however Batman is always there to protect and then serve justice!
The Good
Frank Miller is really bringing the heat now! Last issue we got Plastic Man, Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman. Now we have Batgirl. Frank is constantly bringing the heat with characters from the current comic book story lines. Jim Lee draws Batman really cool in this comic. With the unshaved Batman, it shows him a bit more darker in Frank's series. The puns of the Dark Knight are cruel, but cool. Frank keeps delivering the best puns and quotes from the Batman! With Frank Miller and Jim Lee working together on this title, they have taken the Dark Knight and Boy Wonder story to new heights. Jim's drawings for Batgirl's costume was awesome. Mixing the style of past series and turning it into something new! Batman fighting against crooked cops was terrific. Frank continues to deliver amazing fights that make Batman more and more of a loner. Although Batgirl had a minor role in this issue, she might be seen in fighting in the next issue! There was also a reference to Sarah Essen, from Frank's "Batman Year One" story. It was good to see that Frank showed a small reference to a different series.
The Bad
Barbara Gordon/Batgirl's role in this issue was minor! However, she got to be on the cover of two issues. Maybe, if she was a major character in this issue, then she would get to be on the cover. However, she didn't. Frank's choice of title was a bad one. It was WAY out of the normal rules of DC Comics. Somehow, Frank evaded this.
The Verdict
Appearances, action, and comedy! What else Could All Star Batman and Robin, Boy Wonder need? Frank's choice in words and title was bad, however it was good to see Frank put in key elements from Batman: Year One. Overall this is a 4.5 out of 5.
