All Star Batman And Robin #5: I Love Being The Batman!

"It's A Perfect Night. A Hunters Night." - Batman. Frank and Jim continue to tell the story on how,  The Dark Knight meets Dick Grayson, and also on how he saves/kidnaps/recruits a 12-year-old boy onto his War On Crime! Now since the arrival to the Batcave is over, Batman goes to work on fighting the scum in Gotham City! Every inch of Batman is Alive and on fire. Frank begins to show how violent Batman can be on the ground. Overwhelming odds don't scare Batman, it thrills him even more! Frank and Jim keeps delivering more intense issues.

If the cover wasn't enough for the more violent readers, then the violence in this issue will fill those needs! Batman begins this issue by breaking the bones of scum that live in his city! Showing no mercy for even the small time criminal. Wonder Woman and Superman's off/on relationship in this issue shows on how much they really love each other. The violence in this issue is being focused on, more than the story. This is sort of good, however there should be a good story behind the action! Plastic Man, Wonder Woman, Superman and Hal Jordan's appearances in this issue are minor. However, it is always good to know that there is more than one hero in this story line. Frank makes this Batman a little bit more out of control than the current Batman. If there was a fight between this stories Batman and the Current Batman. You can bet there will be a major and destructive battle!

    The Bad

Yes! Your Violence needed A Good Story!

The story was lacking a whole lot in this issue. The violence picked up the slack of the story. There should have been a story to side with the action/violence! Maybe next issue the story and violence/action will be equal!

    The Verdict

The action/violence ways out more than the story! Batman had a great fight, however this comic seemed to focus more on fighting than a great story. Overall this is a 3.5 out of 5. Let the Insane smiling Batman continue to be awesome, and hopefully gain some sense in Issue 5.

Until I'm convinced to do otherwise, I will never read another issue of All Star Batman. In theory it sounds like a flawless title. Frank Miller, an excellent writer, known for his classic Batman stories, joining forces with Jim Lee, one of the most popular pencilers of last 20 years, to make Batman, one of the most popular comic book characters ever. Initially I was impressed, but over time the book has gone from mediocre to just bad. While the art remains good enough to make the book worth ski...
