Can't write X-23 to save their lives
Ugh. While I love the other characters in this series, I am royally unhappy with the writing of X-23. The writers need to sit down and read some Kyle and Yost issues, or at the very least her origin 6 issues comics and learn about this character.
X-23 is WAAAAAAAAAY too chatty in All New X-Men for one thing, and doesn't talk at all like her. X-23 tends to talk in short sentences, without contractions. All New X-Men also writes her with far too much self awareness - which is something she really lacks. While it would be nice to see her beginning to be able to do this - to just jump in with it makes it completely out of character. X-23 would also not immediately be out dancing on the dance floor - she likely wouldn't even understand the point. The writers seem to forget that she has very little experience with living, so she needs to be introduced to new experiences.
And what's with her falling for every guy in 2 point 5 seconds? And now casual sex? Um...cause the last time X-23 had sex was when she was a prostitute because she didn't know how to be a person and just took orders from the first person who gave them to her. This casual la-dee-da they went about in this issue was yet another completely out of character moment for her - especially when she was into Cyclops, what, days earlier (which in itself was not believable in that short period and considering how she left the X-Men). Speaking of how she left the X-Men - so she's cool being around Miss Frost all of a sudden? While they haven't interacted at all, X-23 did threaten to kill Miss Frost if she saw her again - so that's just meh, whatever?
But then, no one except her wonderful creators seem able to write X-23. Come save X-23 from bad writer, Kyle and Yost!!!
