All-New Invaders #2 Review –“Relationships Are Torn as the Secrets Unfold.”

    Intro

Since the announcement of James Robinson writing an “all-new” Invaders series I’ve been pretty excited. Mainly because I loved the dynamic relationship the Invaders had during the Captain America and Bucky series. This team had a great relationship that still pulled through even on the rough patches of death and many secrets. And I would love to see how this team will get together again even though their lives have changed especially with Namor in AVX. I’m also excited for James Robinson to be writing these series, because he really became of my top favorite writers since he wrote the first half of Earth 2 and I wonder what he will have up his sleeve for these characters. I also recommend you pick up the last issue; it will definitely let you know why the team has teamed up as of late.

    Story

Captain America, Bucky and Jimmy Hammond finally team up to fight Tanalth and discover long forgotten secrets.

    The Good

This issue is still making the series at a very good start as the secrets are revealed. It still shows how the team is and the relationship is never forgotten. They still care for each other even after everything and that’s why I love this team. We also get to find out more of the dark deep secrets and why it was long forgotten. The action is pretty short but still pretty good and drawn very well. The artist has a good use of the fire looking beautiful and everything looks very solid in detail. The only problem is that Captain America’s helmet looks a little weird on him.

    The Bad

I think having another story digging in the past might be a bother for some people. Because you might feel it will cause a continuity error. But I think as far as I’m concerned this story won’t get in the way of that and it does it in a good way. I think the destruction caused by Jimmy might be rough for some as well. But it’s explained why it happens.

    Verdict

I give this issue a 4.5/9.5 out of 5/10 stars. It’s a great issue that brings the old team together in a new way, discovering new secrets and repairing old relationships. It’s a good team that does well together. The art is pretty good especially at the action scenes and it looks like it might be looking good for a while. The story still manages not to make you feel lost if you didn’t pick up the last issue and you will know why the team is here. So, please pick this issue up and the last issue if you haven’t read it. You will definitely love this series if you’re a fan favorite of the characters or even if you’re new to them and you will like Robinson’s writing too.
