    Disney releases two new posters promoting their upcoming film!

    What can I say? The graphic detail of these two posters is absolutely stunning. So much so that I felt compelled to share it with you guys! Check out the beautiful images below.

    From Walt Disney Pictures and visionary director Tim Burton comes an epic 3D fantasy adventure ALICE IN WONDERLAND, a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time. JOHNNY DEPP stars as the Mad Hatter and MIA WASIKOWSKA as 19-year-old Alice, who returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and of course, the Mad Hatter. Alice embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen’s reign of terror. The all-star cast also includes ANNE HATHAWAY, HELENA BONHAM CARTER and CRISPIN GLOVER. The screenplay is by Linda Woolverton. Capturing the wonder of Lewis Carroll’s beloved “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” (1865) and “Through the Looking-Glass” (1871) with stunning, avant-garde visuals and the most charismatic characters in literary history, ALICE IN WONDERLAND comes to the big screen in Disney Digital 3D™ on March 5, 2010.

    Are you looking forward to the upcoming film? Do you think that Tim Burton will do the story justice?

    I'm a really big fan of all Tim Burton Johnny Depp Anne Hathaway Christopher Lee and Helen Bonham Carter stuff (some of my favorite actors and actresses) but I do not think I will like this movie more then the animated film that was just to good and classic.

    Well this looks pretty good, but Tim Burton is hit or miss with me on these remakes...Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, anyone? Ugggh, that was awful imo. A disgrace to the original, Willy Wonka. I love Gene Wilder.
    Hopefully, this turns out better than that and I think it will.

    These are some very stunning images. The do a good job of taking a fantasy realm and turning it into something that looks possible. Sort of like with Pan's Labyrinth. Only not 'as dark'. It looks as if you could walk into that image.

    It's rather brave that Disney is going more in the direction of the novel then they are with their own version of this story. It was one of the reasons why I was ever so cautious about this film. I was worried that this would just end up being a live action version of the Disney Cinderella. Such as with The Little Mermaid. That original story did not have the happy ending Disney gave it. Th real tale had kind of a good lesson, but it also has quite a whole lot of bad ones if you think about it. It's even more tragic if you know where Anderson based the story from.

    When I saw the trailer and heard Johnny Depp was involved in the film. I became far more interested. He's a very entertaining actor, because he never really plays the same person twice. Well, with the noted exception of sequels to a film franchise. Most actors seem to play the same kind of role over and over. They never branch out. Depp is always exploring a different character. You often want to go and see his movies just to see what he does next.

    Last I checked, this isn't a remake, it's a sequel to the original. I think it's about Alice, now 19 years old, returning down the rabbit hole.... or someone lied to me, either way it looks absolutely amazing.

    Umm. yeah I remember it, that movie was amazing. Loved it six ways to Sunday. Oh, and if you ever read the book, Burton's version is much closer to the novel.

    Still, He does weird movies. Alice In Wonderland was always odd and strange from its inception. I think he's simply expanding upon was was always designed to be a strange psychodelic world of wonders. I really can't think of anyone who's more adept at converting this to the big screen than him. Still, most will compare it to one of many existing movies, be it the original film or the animated and when you do, it's largely comparing oranges and tangerines, similar, but hardly the same. Just try to enjoy this movie for what it is and try to praise or condemn it based on its merits, not how close it was to another movie which was also simply an interpretation of the novel.

    LOL sry to make you sigh, but how am I judging before knowing the facts? I simply stated that I did not care for the Burton's telling of the story overall and that I felt Depp's portrayal was limp imocompared to Wilder's. The use of the word 'disgrace' was hyperbole lol just because I'm such a huge Wilder fan. I didn't say anything about the original written story though...as a MOVIE, I like the original '71 version much better, regardless of whatever was written originally.  I felt Burton's film dragged on a bit too and I, for once, didn't really enjoy Depp's portrayal of a character...

    @MysterioMaximus said:
    Sry, I tried...I always try to approach movies this way, just simply didn't enjoy it really...maybe I'll give it another shot ;)
    Overall I'm actually a pretty big Burton fan though. I have loved just about everything else he has done, just not his Choco Factory. I also felt that the darker aspects of the movie were shunted a bit when Burton decided to show all the rejects leaving the factory. I would have enjoyed it more if their fates were still relatively unknown as they were left in the '71 movie.

    @Korg:  just that the old Choco factory movie was less acurate to the source text than the Burton one. so technically, it WAS the bigger disgrace. It was fantastic, but i appreciated Burton's sooo much more because he didnt let half of his movie completely deviate from the source material like everyone else does. with all these comics movies and book movies coming out, its nice to see SOMEONE treating the source material like the perfect, inspiring work that it is, instead of a flawed story they can "fix" or "improve".

    @Korg: i dont actually mean it was a disgrace.. i loved that movie, and if i where telling someone about it, i would only use positive words. I was only using the word disgrace becuase someone else did about the Burton version. Thats why i said "bigger disgrace" instead of just disgrace. its a relative thing. Both great movies.
