She was in charge of the operation of meeting Magneto's demands when he held the whole earth hostage as he would manipulate the polar magnetic fields if his demands where not mett. Alda was able to convince the various representatives to appoint Magneto as the new ruler of the island nation of Genosha. To the surprise of both the X-Men and Magneto himself it worked and she appointed him ruler.
