2000 AD
is a comic volume from Rebellion that started in 1977This weekly British anthology series is a landmark in the history of comics. It is best known for stories featuring the futuristic adventures of Judge Dredd, but has featured many other famous characters, including Johnny Alpha (in Strontium Dog), Halo Jones, Rogue Trooper, Nemesis the Warlock and many more.
2000 A.D. also introduced some the best known British comic book writers/artists such as Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Garth Ennis, Pat Mills, Neil Gaiman, Brian Bolland and many more. It is also notable for the fact that, due to its weekly publishing schedule, it has produced more than 1,600 issues. Although it doesn't have the most issues of all weekly comics, or British titles even, it is probably better known to America than those with more.
Note: Issues #2000-2009 are special issues (annuals).
