Akuma and his brother Goken were students of Goutetsu. Goutetsu was a master of Ansatsuken a martial art that means Assassin Fist. Gouken saw this form of martial arts as too violent and made his own school of martial arts. He took Ryu and Ken on as pupils.

Akuma continued his training under Goutetsu and learned the Shun Goku Satsu. He embraced the power of the Dark Haou to learn this ability. This altered his personality and eliminated his compassion. He left to train alone on an island. When he came back he killed his former master with the Shun Goku Satsu technique.

He then challenged his brother. But his brother seemed to have the upperhand and would not finish Akuma off. Akuma saw this as a weakness and used Shun Goku Satsu to kill Gouken. Ryu learned of his masters death and started to seek out Akuma.

Akuma later battles Ryu on an island and it ends in a stalemate. Akuma tells Ryu to train and embrace the Dark Haou so he can be powerfull enough to fight him.

A second fight occured and Akuma hoped for Ryu to embrace the Dark Hadou but Ryu rejected its influences and said he would beat Akuma with his own abilities. The winner of the battle was unclear.

Known Abilities

Hadouken- Akuma can summon up his ki and release a powerful energy blast through both of his palms.

Shoryuken- Akuma jumps into the air and does a spinning uppercut. In Svc Chaos he used this uppercut to break a battleship in half.

Ashura Senkuu- Ability to warp to other nearby locations. You can see after images of him as hes moving but seems to be intagible.

Tenma Gou Zankuu- This is a mid air Hadouken. He can fire multiple shots at once or one large blast.

Misogi- Akuma uses his ki and teleports above his opponent and descends on them with a powerful enegy enchanced strike.

Kongoukoku Retsuzan- Akuma punches the ground giving off waves of ki energy

Shun Goku Satsu- Akuma warps over to his opponent, grabs them and pulls them into hell. Where the opponent is burnned alive and attacked by demons. If the person has had a life of bad deeds then the demons attack more violently. If your pure of heart then your death will be quicker

The only person to survive Shun Goku Satsu is Gen. The way he did it was to temporarily seperate his soul from his body.

Shin Akuma- This is the strongest form of Akuma where he doesn't hold back and his hair turns to a silver/white color. In this form his speed and power increase greatly.
