Lawrence Jordan started crime fighting during a crime wave. Now almost every member of his family taking up the mantle of Air Wave. The last Airwave died during the Infinite Crisis. Edit

Original Air Wave

The original Air wave was Lawrence Jordan. He worked as an intern at the Brooklyn District Attorney Office office. During a rise in crime in his city, Lawrence invented some gadgets based on his fascination with radios and electronics, and donned a costume and became Air Wave. His gadgets consisted of a cowl with a radio system which allows him to listen to police reports. He also possesses a pair of skates which allows him to skate on top of telephone lines. He also had a unique side kick named Static, which is actually a mechanical bird which he often talked with. This allowed the reader to know what he was going to do and helped understand his actions.

Later on, President Roosevelt heard about him and asked him to join the All Star Squadron to maintain peace and protect the home front during World War 2.

After his time with the Squadron, Air Wave retired and married Helen Jordan (yes, relation with Hal Jordan (Green Lantern)).However, Lawrence's life was cut short when he was shot by a convict he prosecuted once. He died a noble death however, by protecting his family.

The Family Dynamic

Helen Jordan

After her husband, the original Air Wave was murdered, she took on the costume of Air Wave to bring the killer to justice. She never wore the costume again. She later succumbed to mental illness and sent her son Harold Jordan (cousin of Hal Jordan Green Lantern) to live with her cousins.

Harold Jordan

Unlike his father, Harold was born with the power to transmute energy. His father tried to teach him how to control it but had died before that. He took up the mantle of Air Wave, albeit a different costume more streamlined costume and had to use special gadgets to control his powers. He appeared as a supporting character to Hal Jordan and appeared in the Green Arrow and Green Lantern comics as well.

Later his powers grew to the point he didn't need the gadgets to control them. After being recruited by the Institution of Meta-human Studies and with the experiments conducted on him by Dr.Moon, he began to use the name Maser. With his powers once again increase he worked as the Team Leader of Captains of Industry. The group later disbanded and Harold returned to using the name Air Wave again.

Later, he worked with the JSA , during that time Kobra was planning to destroy all of the Earth's major cities, with the JSA and even himself weakened, he managed to destroy all of the satellites. He then joined them as a reserve member.

His next major appearance was during the Imperix War, where he battled the Imperix and also Mordru, Eclipso and Obsidian.

Death....

During the Infinite Crisis, Air Wave joined Cyborg, Animal Man and others to go on a mission in space. A powerful spartial warp was formed and Air Wave detected cries for help coming from ships affected by the warp. In Infinite Crisis #4,he is seemingly killed and believed to be dead.
