Things won't be easy for the Agents when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns in March. Marvel has announced that Drea De Matteo will guest on the show as Karla Faye Gideon, a "gifted woman with a grudge to bear against S.H.I.E.L.D. De Matteo is known for her role as Adriana La Cerva in The Sopranos as well as Sons of Anarchy.

To make things worse, the character will be teaming with Skye's father.

“We’re thrilled to have Drea join us as yet another great villain to challenge our cast,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “We relished the opportunity to work with her in such a menacing role.”

The character has briefly appeared in Marvel's DAREDEVIL: REDEMPTION limited series.

This announcement follows the previous news of Luke Mitchell who will play an Inhuman named Lincoln along with Edward James Olmos playing the mysterious Robert Gonzales.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns on Tuesday, March 3 at 9:00 ET/PT on ABC.

I'm really looking forward to the return of this show. The run up to the mid season finale hit such a high note, and I hope this hiatus doesn't crush its momentum. I have really been enjoying Agent Carter, but also wish AoS was on air now as well.

I wonder with this addition they might somehow cross over and reference daredevil. They are already introducing Inhumans and with absorbing man and sif they can crisscross with Thor even more. The more the MCU is connected the better in my mind.

Cool. Karla Faye Gideon was pretty forgettable, but a connection to Daredevil is rad.

Even though it's not her I instantly thought of her when I saw she was cast.

This show took waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long of a break. My excitement level is officially back at zero for when it starts up again.
