    Ward takes Skye to her father, Cal. He is wants three things, to reconciliation with her, revenge on Whitehall for her mother's death, and for Skye to fulfill her 'destiny'.

    Cal tells her that her mother was from a line of immortals and that Whitehall killed her to harvest her organs and threw her remains into a ditch. It fast becomes apparent that S.H.I.E.L.D., HYDRA, Whitehall, Cal, Grant, Skye, and Ward all have different objectives here.

    Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. #210 - What They Become by gc8 on March 14, 2017

    Skye finally does something worthwhile. "What They Become" is what we've always wanted from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and action-packed superhero spy story that feels like a comic and is tied into the comics. Opening with one of the best plane chase scenes in network television, the episode puts on the tension and never lets up.The annoying, "Skye-is-so-special" refrain is hopefully over soon as she finally gets to "fulfill her destiny", or at least part of it, in this episode.
