Seeing Jonothon Starsmore as Chamber in that picture (assuming it is him) makes me incredibly excited!
Age of X
In a world without X-Men, humans attacked the mutant stronghold of Fortress X on a daily basis. Basilisk, Katherine Pryde, Legacy, Magneto & others struggled to uncover the lies surrounding their world; that the residents of Utopia were warped by a new personality created inside Legion's mind.
Marvel's Next Big Thing: "Age of X"
Well seeing that the X-Men never joined I wonder if some of the characters that got killed off are still alive like Wallflower :) deff would make my day... i can see her bad ass in this story arc.
So if this is an alternate present is it possible that we will see appearances and from other characters not associated with X-Men like Spider-man or the Avenegers for example?

It is very possible as things appear to be very different in this world.
"So if this is an alternate present is it possible that we will see appearances and from other characters not associated with X-Men like Spider-man or the Avenegers for example?"I think I read somewhere that there's going to be a one-shot to deal with the non-X teams.

But yeah, there are various characters I'd like to see still alive.
that's true... well hopefully she makes an appearance :P it would be awesome to see more of her, even though it's an alternate universe !

" No WOLVERINE! YEAH! Battles are interesting again! "Spoken too early, I just saw Wolvie on the cover of one of the alts.
is that Bling! up in the top right hand corner underneath Nightmare?" @Thunderscream:
"
is that Bling! up in the top right hand corner underneath Nightmare? "Look's like it...
You what I love about this event is how they got rid of Beast and gave it away as a teaser! I bet the writers were like:
Writer 1: Hey we need something that will cause discussion..... Let's kill off a character!
Writer 2: Yeah someone that nobody likes or cares about!
Writer 1: ....................... I know!!! Let's kill off Beast! He's been a pain ever since he's been confined to his lab for last 5 years!
Artist 1: Awesome idea, lets kill him! I'll go get my pencil!!!
I don't know If anyone has put it up but this is the second Age of X history picture.

Has it been stated who the Phoenix character is supposed to be (Jean, Rachel, or Hope)? And who's the white haired guy standing next to Storm (Magneto) and then the guy standing next to the white haired guy? Also who's this guy crouching in the front with the...cement looking helmet on? I know it's probably not cement...just being sarcastic >.>

@danhimself: hmm, could be. he does appear to be missing from the roster pic with everyone lined up.
and I just noticed...the other guy is Namor...duh. I knew that >.> But I'm still gonna assume the other is Magnus -nods-
" @mistersarcastic said:I just assumed the guy in the helmet was Avalanche since it's pretty much the same costume he wears in 616." I'm pretty sure this Phoenix is Jean. None of the teasers have shown any time travelers in them yet so that rules out Rachel and Carey already said it wasn't Hope.

Yes, it is definitely Jean:
Source. The accompanying text on Marvel's website declared: "Phoenix destroys Albany" before adding "The mutant abilities of a young woman named Jean Grey manifest in the form of an explosive, fiery Phoenix that immolates everything in its path."
CBR News spoke last week to "Age of X" architect Mike Carey about the series which debuts in January with "Age of X Alpha" #1 featuring art work by Paul Davidson, Gabriel Hernandez Walta, Harvey Tolibao, Mirco Pierfederici and Carlo Barberi before continuing as a crossover running through "X-Men: Legacy" 245-247 featuring art by Clay Mann and "New Mutants" 22-24 by artist Steve Kurth. There, the writer revealed that "There are a few very high profile events [in the story's alternate presetn] which created strong anti-mutant sentiment. For example, in this world the Phoenix manifests on Earth and destroys a whole city. So initially, the anti-mutant coalition gets a lot of public sympathy. It's not clear how far people have now moved away from that position, whether the public goes along with what's being done in their name today. A number of appalling things have been done in pursuit of an agenda of 'peace and security'. You'd have to imagine there would have been a backlash against some of these measures, but now the U.S. and many other countries are effectively no longer democracies."
Now that its been revealed that the Phoenix entity and Jean Grey as a character won't just be backstory to the world but a part of the overall narrative, all bets are off for what comes next for the character and the series.
As for Magneto, he was officially announced during the unveiling of the original promo: here.
But 'Helmet Guy' hasn't been announced yet. There are some new characters being thrown in to the mix, but I'm wondering whether it's Avalanche (since it's just like his lame helmet ;)
" @xhavoc86: whose basilisk? "Cyclops. He has issues in this different reality; he collects the badges & emblems of comrades who've fallen in battle as a means to remember them. With a much more battle-orientated mind-set, it makes it easier to understand how he could end up with Frenzy (a non-telepath).
" http://marvel.com/10101981/Wow...so many X-characters are dead in this universe...and stay that way
Age of X answer to "depowering"
"
It's awesome!
-Virus
Don't mind me saying... But if that's Scarlet Witch dead before she managed to depower the more than 50...80% of the world's mutant population then good riddance. >_>
Alright, I saw a lot of people wondering where Wolverine is in all of this. You all have been looking right at him when you looked at the original picture posted. He's the one you're all saying is Avalanche. Look closely. He has the trademark Wolverine chops and the teaser of him squatting, c'mon...that's Wolverine.
Also, there's been speculation as to who that "aquatic guy" is in the back. He's not an "aquatic guy". That's either Sunfire or Sunspot. I'm guessing Sunspot.
Hope this helps. Really looking forward to this whole thing. Should be awesome.
Also, Professor X never formed the X-Men in this reality. They never came together as a team. From what I've read in interviews though, Xavier's dream was closest to being fulfilled in this reality until the humans started over-throwing the mutants.
To answer the questions of the where-abouts of the Avengers, they are a team of mutant hunters working for the government.
