Now that the 90s epic has been brought back into the spotlight, who are your 5 favorite AoA alternate reality characters and why?

Personally, I have high hopes for the two new characters, Prophet and Horror Show.

@Morpheus_: Somewhat resembles Crossbones? Man, I was convinced that was Brock when all of the promo art first came out. Regardless, I have high hopes for him. I like the design and weapon choices, but I can't say I really like him yet since he hasn't said or done anything yet.

AoA Nightcrawler could have carried far more than 4 issues on his own.....so I guess he was my fave,  
 
Quicksilver for actually being a full on good guy as opposed to his usual questionable position and actions
 
Cyclops...for being  a bad guy for once (albeit, unknowingly) and still getting the girl 
 
Banshee, for being a better character visually and in his actions, he was definitely more on the forefront than he had been in the x-books for a long time 
 
X-Man, he was the bees knees back in 95, I drew him all the time, his solo title continued on and it was pretty solid for a while, then when the X-men had their "Revolutions" phase he got a new writer and fizzled
  

 
 
On a side note, I guess I'm the still the only X-Fan on the planet that thinks AoA wasn't that great...if you love it, thats cool, you like what you like, I just never thought it was never as great as some people make it out to be

Nate Grey, Prophet, Holocaust, Dark Beast, and Nightcrawler.

I've still only read the first part of the AoA storyline. But...here ya go.

Blink - there's something at the same time so toughened and yet so soft about her. She was traumatized as a child and came out stronger for it, IMO.

Sabretooth - He's a complex character. He has his fair share of faults and as slow as he is to admit them, he's also a big ol softie when he needs to be. He's got a very Wolvie/Jubes relationship with Blink and I love that they brought him into Exiles (which is one of the best comics ever)

Rogue - This is Rogue at her best, IMO. The root of the character is still there, but she's also grown and wizened. As much as people hate 616 Rogneto, it works ever so well in this world and they perfectly compliment each other.

Magneto - It's most certainly an interesting take on the character. You see part of Magneto we're accustomed to, in that he's willing to do nearly whatever it takes to save his species, but you also parts of Charles idealism peak through every now and then, not to mention the obvious similarity of him leading the X-Men. You also see just what Mags is capable of with a good support system in his life and it speaks a lot to the changes that he's been going through recently in 616, IMO.

With the right creative team and direction, I do, too.

Blink and Nightcrawler were/are my favorites. Sabertooth too, because he used to be Psylocke's sweetheart and I love the huge contrast between the AoA and 616 versions. I'm really looking forward to AoA Kurt's shenanigans in UXF. Fiend (Trask) seems really interesting to me. I think she'll soon become one of my favorites as well. I really like her design. When I first saw her I was convinced that she was going to be associated with Psy somehow, but I guess not. Prophet so far is just pure badass, I'm sure he'll be one of my favorites, too.

So there's a Trask, a Creed, a Stryker, and Pierce. Basically it's just a bunch of purifiers everyone would have considered blatantly evil in normal continuity. I love it.

I can't stand the original take on the Age of Apocalypse reality but now that it is coming back into the limelight it's pretty fun. I especially enjoy AOA Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Dark Beast.

Blink. (The Dark Huntress has said it all !) Sabertooth (See The Dark Huntress, aain !) Weapon X, Gambit and Rogue. (She's got a character developpement in AoA that Rogue 616 never got.)

Nightcrawler is so awesome.

I really liked AoA Sabretooth, Holocaust, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Sunfire, Gambit and Prophet. I'll think more about this and narrow it down later.
