Aegis

Origin

Aegis has lived in this universe since it was young. She was tasked with sorting out the divergences of the living universe. She destroyed all of the chaos mites that Diableri created. After the Proemial Gods lost their battle with Galactus, Aegis and Tenebrous were the only survivors and they were imprisoned by Galactus at the edge of the universe.

Creation

Created by Renato Arlem and Keith Giffen, Aegis first appeared in Annihilation: Silver Surfer #3.

Major Story Arcs

Annihilation

Aegis and Tenebrous remained there for centuries until the Annihilation Wave entered the positive universe and damaged the prison. They escaped along with Fallen One, Galactus's first herald, and Kosmos the Maker, also known as the Beyonder. Tenebrous drained the strength of Fallen One and he and Aegis confronted and easily defeated Galactus and Silver Surfer. They eventually returned to their old prison to search for any other surviving Proemial Gods but they only found the body of Antiphon the Overseer. The Silver Surfer found them here and, in a suicidal maneuver, channeled the chaotic and mysterious energies of the now unchecked "crunch" into a tidal wave, seemingly killing them both, and gravely injuring himself

Thanos Imperative

Aegis later reappeared, without explanation or any role other than powerful background character, protecting our Universe from the CancerVerse, alongside Galactus, Tenebrous and other Cosmic Abstracts. During the fight the fault opens up and the Galactus Engine appears. During the events of Thanos Imperative #3, Aegis Lady of All Sorrows was splayed in battle.

Powers and abilities

Believed to possess the cosmic power, enabling them to gather, channel and manipulate large quantities of cosmic energy.

Aegis has physical strength to fight against Galactus and Silver Surfer. Aegis also has a great durability.
