    Farewell Legion

Well, the Legion backup nice as it was has bid a fond farewell, as do the greats of modern comics Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul. They will be a tough act to follow. There work on this book as opened my eyes to Superboy and his world. Enough of my requiem though. The issue at hand is phenomenal. The interplay between Lex and Conner is priceless. There's a delightful bittersweet quality about this issue, because aside from the Superboy action we also get to see an interesting story that touches on Luthor's humble roots. Rarely do we ever see Lex Luthor out of his usual element of tech-laden bases, skyscrapers, and spaceships, but here he's in Smallville and that definitely sets the stage for some rather fascinating story elements to crop up. Overall, I've been very pleasantly surprised with this series as a whole, and will be more than willing to see where it goes from here, albeit in different hands.

The Baddest Of The Bad 0

While Superman is absent, Supergirl is tumbling around trying to help anyone without messing it up, and Nightwing and Flamebird are stuck in an infinite drama-loop. Superboy on the other hand, is trying to get his bearings on being back alive (again). He takes time off to be part of human culture and figure out if he is inherently evil or inherently good. Last issue he saved a girl vandal, escorted her home, and tried to find out more about her mother in an attempt to help her out (like superman...
