An Injection to Remember 0

Although Geoff Johns might be one of the biggest writers in comics write now I feel he really put Francis Manapul on the map in this collaboration. The story is simple and personal and the art always looks great. I was really hyped about Geoff Johns writing a story that wasn't a big event or a flag ship title. All good things come to an end though as issue #6 is their last on Adventure Comics. As I said earlier, Adventure Comics shows off the personal journey of Superboy as he readjusts to Small...

The Baddest Of The Bad 0

While Superman is absent, Supergirl is tumbling around trying to help anyone without messing it up, and Nightwing and Flamebird are stuck in an infinite drama-loop. Superboy on the other hand, is trying to get his bearings on being back alive (again). He takes time off to be part of human culture and figure out if he is inherently evil or inherently good. Last issue he saved a girl vandal, escorted her home, and tried to find out more about her mother in an attempt to help her out (like superman...

Farewell Adventure!! 0

The most dynamic duo of Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul bid their farewells to Adventure Comics in this tear bringing conclusion. Issue #6 of this magical series is the conclusion to the 4 & 1/2 part storyline.  Lex Luthor wants Superboy to kill/ let him kill Superman. Superboy snickers when Lex begins his speech about how he could have cured cancer if Superman weren't alive and tells Lex that his OWN sister is infirm! Lex says he can cure her if it were only that Superman was dead and Supe...

Farewell Legion 0

Well, the Legion backup nice as it was has bid a fond farewell, as do the greats of modern comics Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul. They will be a tough act to follow. There work on this book as opened my eyes to Superboy and his world. Enough of my requiem though. The issue at hand is phenomenal. The interplay between Lex and Conner is priceless. There's a delightful bittersweet quality about this issue, because aside from the Superboy action we also get to see an interesting story that touches ...
